I'd like to hear what Starmer thinks about ANYTHING of substance.I think they quite obviously do offer a lot different to the Tories.

He's a hologram.
Worst choice for Corbyn's successor there could have been. A man who wants to ignore what's happened in the intervening years since the end of Blairism. He comes across to me like he'd prefer to do what Macron has done in France, heading up a 'big tent' organisation like the La République En Marche!
...except with a party of that nature you need a charsmatic leader to keep it together...and Starmer is an utter dullard.

@mellowblue Nu Labour are back baby![]()
They're called freedom fighters. He might not be perfect, who is, but he is a million times better than a guy who came across as a ranting home economics teacher with a questionable history and friends.
We are much better placed now to appeal to the masses.
They were from his leadership campaign - and they were all meant to pacify the membership and encourage them to vote for him.I refer you to the ten pledges I posted on the previous page with regards to what he thinks on matters of substance.
We all understand you hate Starmer. Unfortunately for you, in the real World, the only route to power for Labour over the next decade is now through him.
They're called freedom fighters.
We all know who Starmer's friends are: MI5, MI6, the Met, the City of London finance houses...
The majority of people couldn't give a flying one if they're described as freedom fighters or terrorists. They dont engage with it. It certainly never lost Corbyn an election. To a handful of radicals, mate, not to the majority of people.

The 2017 election was narrowly lost by him because of LP bureacrats who we know actively campaigned against a LP win.
The 2019 election was lost heavily because it was another referendum on Brexit.

His moves since the leadership election: surrounding himself with Blairites and 'centre-left' (code for free market hand wringers), his sacking of Long-Bailey and his rebuke of the BLM movement underlines what he is.
As said: let's have some meat on the bones of what he believes are the LP's core principles under him. We haven't had it.
Who is this "man on the street?" Is he the same as " the man on the Clapham omnibus?" Are there female mindsets as well? You clearly don't understand the mindset of the man on the street in the UK, Dave.
The Begum situation is a massive one for Starmer - will he go all Corbyn and go against the Majorities wishes or will he campaign to keep her OUT of the country?
If he does the right thing he has my vote.
If he goes all PC/Far left advocating she stay a British Citizen then he pushes the silent majority further towards the Tories imo.
