It's always incredibly cringey when people on the internet try to brag about their real life successes, or how much they earn etc. And 99% of the time, they've just made it all up. I don't believe anything you say, you're a phoney.

Keep flipping the burgers. It must be hard for you to understand that people on here actually had really senior jobs in iindustry and ran companies in both the U.K. and America. It makes no difference to me, I’m retired on several large pensions. My only real concern at the moment is my wife of 53 years who was more intelligent than most on here but now has Alzheimer’s and cannot even speak .I’ve just put her to bed but I know if she were to read some of the crap from you lot she would just shake her head… enjoy your mundane life, we are in our 70’s, and both of us have had a great time until this disease came upon her, but we still get through it, because that’s what we’ve always done. Goodnight………

Hang on here, you claimed that you … you…. Built the internet in the UK. Now I’m neither agreeing or disagreeing with you here, but you’ve just shifted the goalposts.
That’s like me saying if you walk down the Thames in London and spot the police boats you’ll know that I built them….. well, I never actually built them myself, I was part of a team that had a specific job in the development and completion of the contract with the MOD.

That’s really good Kurt, nor did I build all of the submarines and airplanes as lots of people were involved. But someone was in charge and overseeing all of this, and that’s what I did…..but anyway, having deflected the conversation, any chance of commenting on Labour……

Ohhhhhh Pete. C'mon man, it's a bit uncalled for.

By all mens do so. How do you think the internet reaches you, by magic ? No it comes from the telecommunications network and the satellites, both of which I oversaw, but enjoy your search……
Interesting Pete. Do you mean the very early stages of internet infrastructure, ADSL and cable, or the move to fibre and high speed?

I'm guessing you must have worked for BT, particularly if the former?

It’s quite sad really that ‘flipppin burgers’ is used as some kind of insult if that’s the right word. I have a nephew who works at KFC, he’s in university and the extra income he earns is vital to supporting himself through uni. He works hard, pays his tax on it I’m guessing and enjoys his job, personally I think that’s great.

Your head has fell off here Pete, time for a break from the forum I reckon.

So you oversaw the construction of the internet, the Eurofighter, the Astuteclass submarines.

Are you secretary of defence Geoff Hoon?

We are caught between a rock and a hard place at the moment and something needs to be sacrificed in order to get things going economy wise, and I think that sacrifice needs to be net zero.

Don't get me wrong it's a nobal justcause net zero. Just no point in martyrdom, when rest of world is going drive us nose down to bottom of the cliff until we hit the bottom, we've all got to live a life in the meantime.

Net zero is the way forward to growing the economy.

A few years back the world looked at the UK as being a market leader but all we have done is talk a good game and done next to nothing. Only at the end of last year did we get around to FID for NZT power in Teesside and the pipe networks for Hynet. These are projects we have talked about for over 5 years.

Other countries have surpassed us and you need to look at China and the growth in its GDP from green technology.

It's like those old "considerably richer than you" Harry Enfield sketches. A washed up tedious little man proving over and over he's got nothing of interest or value to add to proceedings so just collapses back on blunt claims of wealth.

Not a great look, is it? Appreciate Pete has a lot of stress and this place is a release, but it's all a bit unsavoury.

He also claimed Davek makes sense. Wowzers. Time for a break.
