That secondary objective seems to be the de-facto primary objective.

The industry lobby is winning it's battle to reduce consumer protections across the board all under the guise of growth.

They were always full of 💩 on the environment; just like Cameron and his green credentials - Starmer's more times in the air than on land; and the ditching of the £28B green investment planted you all you need to know.

'Labour' will be haemorrhaging votes all over the place next election:

countryside seats - gone
urban seats where they'll face Reform - gone
seats where the Greens are any sort of force - gone
seats where there's a large Muslim population - gone

...not to mention the wholesale loss of the over-65 vote.

I expect the local elections to confirm their decline.

Then you mental Reform pricks can enjoy your moment.

The electoral calculus off that is remarkable, there's no way to form a Government without 2 of the 'big three' (sorry Libs) jumping into bed with each other. 3rd place Tories to act as kingmaker...

Lab/Tory to keep the Reform nutters out? Or Reform/Tory and hang the Centrists? It's potentially an existential question for the Tory Party that might kill them off entirely, collapse any working coalition's majority and force a 2nd election almost immediately.

But as I keep saying to anyone gleefully posting Starmer's dire approval ratings, we aren't having an election soon anyway, doesn't matter (and if circumstances arise that force Labour into calling one then I think we can all agree the polling will shift in response).

I'm just amazed that Starmer hasn't completely cratered that party.

That'll be as good as it gets for his lot.

Where does your new Leftist party fit into that potential 2029 matrix Dave? Getting zero MPs and knocking another 50-100 Labour MPs out of Parliament to ensure a right-wing hegemony?

No doubt you'd be crowing about how clean your hands are. Not surprising how unwilling you and your ilk ever are to do the hard work of governing.
