I think you should wait until the charities that deal with poverty weigh in with their conclusion before you start declaring a Soviet.

That said, I know she's used to copying other people's words and presenting them as her own, hiding her sources rather than attributing them. So that's progress I suppose.

Decent budget. Not the austerity that many were fearing, some well targeted stuff. Some good protections. Decent uplift to minimum wage.

Suspect we’ll still hear screaming that every business will now go bust having to pay their minimum wage staff a bit more, from the same people who were likely opposed to any sort of minimum wage in 1999, and said exactly the same back then.

The NI rise was expected, but the reduction in the threshold I think may have been a surprise for many. That’s a lot more that business will be paying.

I wouldn’t be expecting pay rises to be great, any time soon.

Unless you work in the public sector of course….
