There’s going to be lots of internet people calling ‘two tier kier’ a hypocrite aren’t there

Well we knew that anyway, but the papers have already jumped on it in respect of the MP and the Party…..

“There were immediate calls for a by-election in Mr Amesbury’s Cheshire constituency, while he risked accusations of hypocrisy because he previously demanded tough sentences for rioters and people who assaulted shop staff.”

“ Labour initially claimed that the alleged assault, which happened in the early hours of Saturday morning, was a “matter for the police”.

But the party changed course amid mounting calls for Mr Amesbury, 55, to be suspended on Sunday, with Richard Tice, the deputy leader of Reform UK, claiming a refusal to act would be an example of “two-tier justice”.

Amazing false equivalences here.

People who go on about ‘two tier policing’ are excusing the actions of people attacking police, causing huge civil unrest and trying to set fire to hotels with families in them. Sure these folk were probably calling for the armed forces to be sent in to the London riots several years ago.

What does "immediate calls for a by-election" mean here, who made them? Starmer can't kick Amesbury out of the Commons and if someone like Tice thinks he could he's got no business serving as an MP himself.

Initially it'll be up to Amesbury to quit as an MP, and if he refuses that then it depends on the length of any suspension triggering a recall petition, the same as any other misbehaving MP. It's an independent process, not led by the government or party leadership.

Why are people so thick these days?

No, they’re pointing out that people who send controversial tweets are fast tracked to prison, while people like Labour Councillor Ricky Fowler who was on video calling for people to ‘cut the throats of the far right’ hasn’t even been in Court yet.

There absolutely is two tier policing in this country, it’s undeniable, and the above are only two minor examples.

has Ricky fowler pleaded guilty or not guilty ? He can’t be sentenced until he’s convicted can he ?

A lot of the outrage over ‘political prosecutions’ and convictions those arrested pleaded guilty , that has to contribute to the ‘fast tracking ‘ surely ? If you go not guilty then , like fowler is currently aiming for there will be a trial . If those jailed are innocent and didn’t do it I’m puzzled to know why so many have thrown their hands in ? This isn’t the states with plea bargains

Nope. The swift and strict sentencing has precedence with the London riots and is used to quickly quell social unrest. You may not like it but it worked.
If someone posted online calling for mass deportations and hotels to be set on fire, I wouldn’t really respond with ‘oooh that’s controversial’ btw

Tiredness. Difficult subjects require effort to understand and think through. No one can be arsed, so knee jerk instant judgements are actively encouraged (stop the boats) (build back better) and the sheer volume of news and tragedy and suffering goes well beyond 24 hour news channels and the press.
Now take a political class that have actively managed the country into the gutter, stir in some covid-lockdown dissonance, prey upon the fear of the foreign bogeyperson, push conflict and drastically reduce living standards and suddenly your audience/subjects/proletariat are all worked up and keen to throw blame around. 'Blame the trans community' they screech, 'blame the liberals' they chortle, 'blame the refugees' they backslap little realising it's often british weapons and training that have displaced some of these people, 'blame the disabled'... the fat, the different church attendees, the poor, the orphans, the destitute etc.

As a nation the uk is hooked on blame. It is very ill. Always someone elses fault. Responsibility and accountability are still dirty words.

He'll get promotion in Starmer's Party.

A cesspit.

They're complicit in the genocide in Gaza, so I dont know why Sky News are intent on questioning that man for his singular act of violence on a street corner. They should be more interested in questioning the party leader over his hand in murdering 44,000 Gazans, and asking him also - 3 years after the Forde Report was published - why he's implemented none of the recommendations to curb the rampant Islamophobia in his party.
