Current Affairs The Labour Party

I’m afraid this just shows you up. Still with the insults yet no idea how to answer my simple question. I think we are done……
Assuming people didn't give the Lib Dems more votes than they've enjoyed in a century because of Davey's bungee jumping abilities, we can perhaps assume that the left finally understood how our democracy works and voted tactically to get rid of the rotten Tories.

so what do you think his chances are of getting in next time…….

Simply no way of knowing at this point, we've got 4 years plus and who knows what will happen not just with Labour's policies but also how global events shape domestic affairs. It's impossible to know whether Jenrick/Badenoch will be an effective LOTO or even in that role still by the time the next election happens. And of course 2024 saw record seats for minor parties both left and right, and that trend could continue to the point where it could impact on government majorities and coalition decisions. The Labour majority is rocky but large and we've yet to see what sort of forces might align to pull it apart.

This of course was a far more sensible answer than your silly post-pub bait post deserved, but let's try to raise the tone a bit shall we?

Nice try, but what changed since 2019…I’d still like to hear from the other abusive guy who is completely avoiding the question. And we all know why he wont of course…
Because I don’t care and it’s totally irrelevant and a pointless and futile argument you are trying to engage in.

I didn’t avoid it, I told you already, I couldn’t care less.

Labour will struggle to get back in if they continue the way they are.

They need to get away from telling the country how bad things are and start to offer a solution and some hope.

They’re utterly depressing at the moment.

Things can change quickly though with the new workers bill, and a change in approach to the budget.

Just over 100 days in. 4 and 3/4 years away is a bit of a long way off.

I asked for the truth, just how smashed up is the country after 14 years of dereliction and spite.

They're depressing because they won't tell lies, there are no brexit payoffs, there is no 'boat person' boogieman to blame, it's not that there is no money - the credit card has been blitzed and cut off.

Worthless trade deals other places saw truss coming, she needed a win and they weren't giving. This is the problem with letting the stupid have charge of something so important.

The architects of this crap-show have all bailed out, they need holding to account. You wouldn't freeze some turnips and cauliflowers if you then got to Sandy Koufax a few into boris' big fat stupid face?

Accountability and responsibility. It's time.

Unfortunately the electorate have gotten stupider and more reactionary, fuelled by the sugar rush of clickbait social media and grifters on all sides.

This sense you speak does not belong here.

Starmer talking about his first 100 days, referring to ‘headwinds’ of the riots, the international situation (no mention of their self-imposed freebies scandal), and that this all stopped him getting away for a holiday.

The guy is completely out of touch. This is the job you signed up to, you’re the PM FFS!

This is a good jumping off post for a point I've actually been wanting to make for a while - I wonder if some people in Labour's team have been a little naïve at the difficulty of government messaging in the 'immediate reaction' social media era - after all, the last time the party was in power it was early 2010 and the likes of Twitter were still in relative infancy, and signficantly more people were getting their news via traditional outlets like scheduled TV reports.

BBC….

At the end of the day, both political parties will appease billion-dollar companies regardless if they trample all over employees.

Its just a reminder, if you needed it, that there is no difference between political parties and all voting does is legitimise the broken political system, and allows these cowboys to do whatever they want.

Yes, possibly. They've got Mandleson and Cambpell lurking at the edges. Masters of the dark arts 20 odd years ago.

Briefly the right rode that horse very effectively (Brexit, Trump) but it soon bit back.

I'm not saying the last Tory government weren't horrible and didn't make horrendous errors and downright awful calls, but everything is amped up and immediately scrutinised so quickly.

This leaves parties in a tough place. You either do the Boris approach and bend with the prevailing wind, but ultimately end up pleasing no one. Or you do what Labour seem to be doing, attempting to hold firm. With very mixed results. The pressure doesn't go away.
