It certainly feels this way….

Hope so NHS that can look after as many people as possible, Social Services that support as many vulnerable people as possible. Ambulance service takes to hospital rather than goes camping out side A and E. Fire service that responds in good time to my house burning down. Police that turn up rather than emailed crime number when you have been robbed. Call me a communist or Red Tory. Just give me a public sector that works.

Now staff have had the pay rises, they need to respond with improvements in service. That's got to be the deal.

Depends really. Can't just expect health or social professional to pick up more cases just because they have finally had a pay rise, there are evidence based best practices to consider in case load numbers.

More to do with attracting people into the job, where departments have been running at below staff capacity for years, so more to do with long advertised vacancies being filled. 3 months out of last12 years we have been fully staffed in social services department in Mental health...

We run between 60 to 70% staff capacity, with council that has now near built 300 dwellings for social housing sector, bringing in people from Shropshire Manchester Merseyside Wolverhampton. Factor in statistical evidence fair few will need mental health support.

Well now you’ve got a public sector that’s having above inflation wage rises, with no requirement to improve and it still won’t work, many of whom won’t even go into the office….

There was thing, although it wasn't a bird it was considered an albatross. (no golfers please)

noun
1. any of several large, web-footed sea birds of the family Diomedeidae that have the ability to remain aloft for long periods. Compare wandering albatross.
2. a seemingly inescapable moral or emotional burden, as of guilt or responsibility.
3. something burdensome that impedes action or progress.

A bunch of racist idiots and morons dreamed up brexit, 'take back control', 'stop the boats', 'that sorta crap'...

Sadly a democratic proportion swallowed it hook line and sinker, and through apathy or punch drunkenness a significant proportion that would usually stand up against this sort of thing didn't and it squeaked over the line. They (the morons) had voted to devalue sterling, and have no say in the biggest market on the doorstep in europe. They did however complain from minute one that they were poorer and didn't like the sudden scarcity of consumables - the majority of which had previously come from europe.

Genius.

It seems the belief was that a vote would 'hey presto' magic all their worries and concerns away. Oh how silly they all were. The full pain of the mess they voted for still hasn't landed btw.

Pertinent here how?

It's an incredibly foolish person that expects ousting 14 years of toryism to be turned around in 100 days. Such an entitled view completely neglects the depth of harm they oversaw and enjoyed forcing onto elements of society.

"I voted for change, I've done my bit!" they squealed. "I demand better or I'm taking my vote to galloway or farage, you're on notice you!" they tried to threaten.

Generation karen.

What a disaster.

We could have a chat about margins of error & the issues with using a single poll but what’s your view of the aggregated poll trends Pete?

Sorry you lost out on your “pittance” Pete.

We know you're only being concerned for the vulnerable in society like all good, kind hearted Tories.

Unlike the good kind hearted Labour government and its supporters…oh no, wait……

True i don't go into the office now, well very rarely. As result not having to turn up in office everyday, it freed up several hours a week, as result see more people in the community. Was quick in my supervision when working from office to working from being agreed, a move back to office based would mean less people to support, important piece of paper that... Still one wonders with inflation busting pay rises gold gilded pensions and who can forget the clapping in Pandemic, why hell are we still short staffed...

What an utter shambles after 100 days.

Struggling with the point of this. To me it shows regardless of doing the correct thing, as in follow procedure and publish these gifts, its probably better not to be honest and being corrupt is far palatable for electorate to understand, but that's cap doffing right?

They didn't publish them, they were forced to acknowledge them when the media published them and highlighted Freebiegate.

There's nothing correct about Free Gear Keir.

So, by all accounts Reeves will announce a load of investment in industry and infrastructure in the budget because she's going to change the definition of debt to allow more borrowing to the tune of £40B-£50B, apparently.

The only problem is that it will just underscore the viciousness of the winter fuel payments cuts.
