So you won't be needing any financial support for your care work then. Good to know, pass it on to people more needy, as with the heating money.

I see both sides of it Pete, needs must though, the country's on it's arse, cuts have to be made. This isn't whataboutism on my part, but the amount of tax the rich and large companies avoid every year is disgusting and would eliminate so many of these problems, chasing it should be a priority for any government as I've said before. Anyone who can deliver on that would have my vote alone.

So literally like every parent regardless of political views then?

Except two points.
Firstly the proportion of the population with wealth to conserve is decreasing.

Secondly Gen X & younger are seeing the challenges our kids will face even if we have personally prospered enough to help them when the time comes.

Noticed you didn’t comment on the FT article that refuted your initial statement anyway. Very wise.
