Why do you believe that? What would being retired do to my world view, that it's important people should have a work ethic instilled into them, and not rely on handouts?

I believe similar to yourself, and worked to ensure that I did not have to rely on the state at all. That is not always possible for people. As you get older things change, such as health, and this should not be underestimated. Every one of my friends has had their partner take ill, from Parkinson’s, PSP, Alzheimer’s, Cancer and death. All within the last two years. It all happened suddenly and requirements for home care, residential care homes, hospice and end of life support care etc came to the fore. A nicely planned future doesn’t always arrive. Things change and rarely for the better…..

You are wrong that everybody would do what you did. That is wrong. I wouldn't.

Just as you were wrong about the 2020 US election, wrong about Johnson's popularity, wrong about the 2024 election, wrong about Brexit, wrong about public sector pay going above inflation. Wrong that the Tories, who suffered a record loss by becoming more right wing, just need to go more.in the wrong direction to win.

It's quite a litany of mistakes. Id also add there is copious evidence of you telling people they are wrong. The difference is, with politics I have a reasonable understanding so don't call it wrong very often.

Wrong about Brexit, how exactly, I called the result correctly. I called the 2010 election correctly, the 2015, 2019 and 2024 correctly. Any chance you could tell us what you called….

There is no reversing brexit. The harm it continues to do needs mitigating, and the butchers shop tear up of the last set of clowns meant none of them dared even mention it because it would be career suicide.

It is very difficult to take you waffling on seriously @Joey66 when you refuse to address the encyclopedia of harm the shysters in the tory party did.

But but but starmer and £300 for winter fuel though...

No balance, no credibility, no reason to keep pushing your 'regretful labour' line.

A 22billion black hole, yet, a new trade deal will at an eleventh back.

Every year though, and it will grow. And £9Bn of any black hole was generated by Starmer caving in to his paymasters. Whoopy do indeed…
The increase in pay 14 years late will be taxed accordingly Einstein. A few more pounds in the pockets of the workers that keep this circus ticking means a little more confidence in the markets, a new car, an extension on the house, some of the things they were laughed at for going without in shameless moments such as...

You know even just reading this forum thread alone it's very apparent how the impressiveness of Starmer - at least compared to what we've had before and its really grating on Tory voters. And that is reflected elswhere too.

It's going to be a longer 5 years for them than the rest of us.
