Paul Flynn, Labour MP for Newport West, died on Sunday.

He was a unique character - it would't be correct to describe him as being on the left, right or centre of the Labour Party as he was always his own man, although I think it's fair to say he wasn't happy with the way things were in Labour under Tony Blair. He wouldn't fit into any neat category. He was popular with people from all shades of political opinion. A reall "nice guy" too - he had no personal enemies at all.

I hope for their sake it's more of a cross-party ERG-style group than an actual party, because they have no chance.

What's the Labour position on the DCMS report on foreign involvement in recent elections and referendums? I mean their flagship Brexit strategy is to have an election and this report says if an election were held tomorrow it would be heavily and mendaciously influenced by external actors.

The saddening thing here is that I agree with a lot of what they are saying, but totally, completely don't trust their motives.

By words alone, they are 100% spot on about Corbyn and the current state of Labour.

Some moderate voices there tbf - Ann Coffey is my local MP and very solid here AFAIK.
