It won’t mate and you’re spot on with vaping although I’ve been to a few places where they’ve been asked to put it away or leave and where it’s prohibited outside .

I will say that we had these exact conversations when the ban was introduced and it was openly discussed nobody would abide by it . When do people light up in pubs now ? Change comes and it comes gradually , I’ve openly said I have doubts on it on several levels but it’s a statement of intent I suppose .

Used to hate Vapes until Covid intervened and took my sense of smell. Still think they should be banned inside

We enforce the law in every aspect, hours, age of drinkers etc. I’m the DPS and we did so during Covid to the letter of etc, but typically we only have one member of staff behind the bar, and tbh they don’t have time to check if someone is having a cigarette somewhere outside. If Starmer wants it he can pay for it…it went down like a lead balloon tonight. So now he’s pissed off 10 million OAP’s and god knows how many million smokers. All we’ve heard from him so far is bad news. When is he going to tell us what he’s going to do to improve things, apart from public sector pay. He has no chance of a second term….

Also it’s been rumoured that the small business rates relief will be getting scrapped early next year, this will cause huge numbers of pubs and small businesses outside of London to close together with the attendant job losses. Shambles. You do not grow an economy this way….

Ordinary people were not opposed to it, but tonight all I’ve heard from customers is the term ‘stupidity’…..
