Worst bit was seeing lads/ladies you thought were sound , breaking overtime bans, not the ones you expect with kid s ect, but the ones who like to never be out of work grabbing overtime ect left a sour taste , and the odd plain scabs that worked the strikes thankfully, not that many in are area.
Pity they just don't say union members get the deal , the rest go in and try and get one themselves as individuals., winds me up they get it for doing nothing.
Problem now is the staff really don't like the higher management
Who were putting out the Tory line, could cause trouble going onwards.
One of them was on ticktock in Liverpool saying look at this it's a strike day and everything is running , I thought they were militant around here , ( it was the day before the strike soft arse) now she is giving it , we will all work together for a brighter future.
hope going forwards she gets binned.
The reason for me liking your post is I’ve been in the exact situation, while on strike manning the picket line we had members working either for the money or job advancement hoping to be promoted for working the strike, they were making money signs by rubbing their thumb and fingers together in our face as they crossed the picket line. When they were confronted on their actions their reasons for working was that although they agreed with the strike they couldn’t put the public in danger by striking but not one of them gave any of the large amounts of money they earn to the strike fund. To this day it still causes trouble in town 20 yrs later.

Across a series of measures, most voters thought that the government’s response to the rioting was either proportionate or not strong enough. Overall, 43% of voters approve of the government’s handling of the riots, while 30% disapprove.

In terms of the severity of the response, 44% think the government has reacted proportionately to the outbreaks of violence and unrest and 26% think it didn’t go far enough. Only 18% believed ministers had overreacted. There was a similar view on the sentences handed out, with some 70% thinking they were either about right or not harsh enough.

BIG praise on the way he banished racism tho.
Ha Ha Ha.

The Left got the fascists off the street, not that turd Starmer hiding behind judges.

The honeymoon is over. It''s all downhill from here for the Red Tories.

That'll be the late autumn play by the red Tories.

They've already earmarked saving's on winter fuel payments to pay for wage increases granted to certain workers, the second part will be to cut welfare benefits in order to fund the child tax benefit they've been getting stick about.

It's a classic rob Peter to pay Paul divide and rule strategy that you usually associate with the real Tory Party. Now it's going to be rolled out by a so-called 'Labour Government'.

My hands are clean. I didn't vote for them. Thank goodness.

Same on both First Great Western and South West when I was LDC for both.

We created a rest day pattern where we swapped in the most reliable, meaning we could shut down the overtime and weekend working for about 50% of the roster.

Another 30% did the right thing regardless, but you always get that 20% of scabs who would lick management boots.

I hated them who profited off our sacrifices more than management truth be told.

Was there even a honeymoon??

No because Starmer jilted Dave at the altar.

To think what we could have had, the entire political Left united in perfect harmony.

It may be rob Peter to pay Paul. But when a nation has 2.7 Trillion in debt and runs at a deficit. Then what they are doing is the best you can hope for. Otherwise we will continue to raise the debt and interest payments will cripple us. Only have to see Everton to know that.

Paying for all pensioners who have been given more than any previous generations should have been set up to pay these basics, and anyone who is below the threshold will receive these payments anyway (whether that threshold is high enough is another issue)

The best way of growing the economy is either invest in new technologies to feed new job roles. Or invest in the working class to raise wages and encourage better talent to come to this country and grow our talent base that way.
