What a fiasco over the immigration bill. I know a lot of you fellas think Corbyn is doing an amazing job in opposition, but really? Had all Labour MPs voted against this crapshoot it would have lost.

Not all Labour MPs would have voted for it Bruce - Tulip Siddiq is on maternity leave.

Also no offence, but the sight of those who abstained on Windrush (and the welfare bill) getting on their tall equine over this is more than a little hypocritical. As is their insistence that a one line whip = abstention.

So is The Tory mp for Thanet who went to court charged with fiddling election expenses who in fairness was found not guilty . Mackinlay was still an MP whilst on bail so the fact she’s an mp whilst not facing criminal charges shouldn’t be a huge surprise .
However, one of his co-defendants, senior Tory party worker Marion Little an employee of Conservative Headquarters since 1974 , was found guilty of two counts of intentionally encouraging or assisting an offence.
The judge on his summing up. "Conservative party headquarters of “a culture of convenient self-deception” and “inadequate supervision” which allowed Little to break the law."
Gives me a little insight into the morale nature of wanting to just beat Farage! Also it's no surprise how the referendum was put together and campaigned by Conservatives.

No, but I'd rather he had a shot at tempering the influence on society that these feckless Spiv's have wrought over previous years.

Again, where's the proof for your claim?

Evidence that many on here think he's great? A quick glance through this thread would provide that.

I'm appalled by much of what this government is doing, and the confused strategy from Labour regarding this bill helped it to pass. To her credit, Dianne Abbot was spot on, but the cabinet strategy flip flopped all over the show.

You said 'doing an amazing job', I can't remember anyone saying anything of the sort, and that's something quite different from being supportive or correcting biass against.

No it didn’t, Bruce. This was the second reading of the bill, it still has stages to go through.

This is one of the things that do my head in most about the criticism of Corbyn, that anything and everything is seized upon even though many of those arguments fall away at even the slightest bit of examination. There are a lot of valid criticisms you can make of him, but almost none of them have been made by the FBPE shower.

Even Dimbleby was interjecting far too often. As a political debate, some of the mods on here do a better job....mind you, Abbott is playing this woman/race card every time she makes a fool of herself. Remember this is the person who wants to be the Home Secretary. *shudders........
Remember who used to be home Secretary in your own scummy party? And she "mislaid" the paedo files? Look who's there now.........the deluded Mekon FFS

I'm unbelievably shocked as that is incredibly lenient.

I think it was a consequence of her brother pleading guilty - she couldn’t be sentenced for more than him, and he plead guilty (and committed other offences).

As you say though, for an MP and a solicitor to get that for this is very lenient.

But May never played the ‘you’re all being nasty to me’ card.....
And that makes it right does it? Dianne Abbott HAS been racially abused and vilified continually in her political career.....it is a fact that she stands up for herself against these slurs and abuse......at least she is not a paedo protector is she?

I read this story in the Guardian today. I'm a bit confused: how does one "lie" about a speeding ticket 3x when it was a camera-issued ticket?

Also, she seems like she suffers from delusions of grandeur.

She claimed someone else was driving, but the police established he was out of the country, that her phone was near the camera when it was triggered, and that she had been in the car visiting a colleague around that time. God knows on what basis the appeal will be.
