Starmer can't be serious bringing in Alan Milburn to save to NHS, like getting the arsonist in to put out the fire he started
One to watch. Very much against Health Social Health Care reform the Tories and Liberal Democrats ushered in under Lansley which was correct position. Still has obvious conflict of interest given his private advisory roles. Still his beleive the patients are more important than clinicians has always been correct. Would imagine he has been in the background for Streeting anyhow for some time, given his rhetoric.

….my daughter is an NHS Consultant and I also had a good chat with a London based nurse last week and they both mainly allude to the costly waste of uneccessary middle-managers. The nurse told me she has two office bound ‘sisters’ who are rarely seen from a clinical perspective and are basically report writers. My daughter tells of beurocratic managers taking all office space and naively managing clinical matters.

I wonder if Labour might try to address this. Maybe utilising Nightingale wards to free up beds and manage the transition to social care. Move uneccessary staff to directly manage that facility.

Tough task ahead.

Her CV suggest far from talentless and interesting you attack a MP for a scandal that was a systemic issue not an individual one.

which others have been appointed to government?
and did they also get offenders to paint their houses for free as part of their 'community service'?

Expecting justice to be served is always going to lead to disappointment. Did the MET pursue the correct action against clear evidence of breaking COVID rules by the government in power? Including the then PM himself.

How many of these our still serving MP's?

sorry what has any of that got to do with jacqui smith being appointed to govt?

To question the morals of one individual you have to hold their colleagues to the same standards.

You seem to only to question Labour MP's/Ministers character. If you had the same view on the Tories and all their scandals then we would have very few MP's who could rightly serve.

so absolutely nothing to do with jacqui smith then.
think you'll find i had a visceral hatred of the corrupt, greedy, self-serving tories when they were in govt and will have the same views about any of the labour members of the govt of the same ilk, like smith.

Seen him call out the tories on plenty of occasions to be fair to him

Same standards apply to both parties. Both get held to account as much as the other. Labour shouldn't get an easy ride just because they're not the tories.

That was not my point. He said she was not capable of the job purely basing it on the scandal many on both sides of the house where guilty of. Tony Blair only avoided his being leaked by an "accidental shredding" of his expenses.

Unless he can prove she failed in her roles in government? Otherwise he point is redundant.

aaah so the cronyism is acceptable now cos its labour?

aaah how silly of me of course cronyism

Likes look at that definition shall we

"The appointment of friends and associates to positions of authority, without proper regard to their qualifications."

Can you validify that she does not have the credentials to fulfil the post of minister of Education?

As again without your argument is redundant

Is your daughter an expert on management? If not, her opinion is perhaps as valid as a manager telling her how to do her job.
