He won’t.

Thatcher is another level of hate.

He isn’t going to systematically attempt to destroy working class communities.

This feller is the Establishment personified.

His track record is to go further and further to the Right as his time in public life has unfolded.

I think some people are under the mistaken belief he'll end up as a British Macron: an economic neoliberal but with left or liberal social impulses. Nothing could be further from the truth.

His time as a lawyer decades ago when he was still in his 20s, 30s and 40s underline what a right winger he was with a veneer of 'human rights' about him. Make no mistake, this is an utter 'kin rotter we're dealing with here. Anyone doubting that are in for a rude awakening.

I don't get why Starmer ties himself in knots over Corbyn questions. It really shouldn't be any major drama that a Labour MP of any seniority would have preferred a Corbyn win in 2019 over Johnson, it should be the default Labour position that a Labour administration is clearly preferable to a Tory one under almost any circumstance.

There seems to be this paralysing dread where Corbyn is concerned, like he's absolutely terrified that generating a soundbite that could be construed as an endorsement, even now, would give the Tories a foot in the door. I just don't know that Corbyn has got the effect on the general population that both the Tories and Labour's HQs think he does. I haven't heard his name mentioned outside of places like this or the election news in years.

Yeah supporting the leader in an election is what you do, whether you actually like them or not

I don’t get how “you supported Corbyn when he ran as leader in an election” is supposed to be this GOTCHA on him

Err, yeah, Corbyn was the leader and it was a GE numb nuts. What was he supposed to do?

How many of the folk campaigning for Sunak right now actually like or support him?

Only with Labour does simple common sense stuff become this weird controversy
