Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I thought Julie Burchill was a rancid get, but Oakeshott take the biscuit.
The cap on bankers' bonuses was first introduced in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis to limit annual payouts to bankers and to make the financial system safer, reducing risk etc, i think people forget that. If tax loopholes didn't exist I would be far more open to bankers getting ridiculous bonuses.I'm curious. Would you be in favour of the government capping the amount of money Everton can pay players when they score a goal? Or would you say that's over-reach and none of their business?
And is there any evidence it has worked? The two-child limit has had a massive impact on families, scrapping it is actually one of the most cost effective ways to reduce child poverty.
Starmer will be utterly detested in 12 months time.
There'll be a lot of people keeping their heads low then about backing him now.
Guaranteed.
The Starmer Red Tories are a racist party.
Take a look at the Forde Report and you wont be surprised at their immigration policy right now.
Their own officers have proven to be virulently anti-black and anti-Muslim.
Only if you support short term policy and politics. Going to take more than a year or one Government to see net benefits.Starmer will be utterly detested in 12 months time.

The cap was introduced to disincentivise bankers taking unnecessarily risks in order to chase ridiculous bonuses i.e. lending money to people who obviously couldn't pay it back in the first place, The main issue was they were taking bonuses before people even began paying back. It was truss and kwasi who had the brass neck to lift it, previous tory governments didn't dare cos it's bad optics during austerity, covid and living crisis's. the labour party should've re-introduced the cap, i find it strange how suddenly labour supporters (i will be voting for labour btw) are all for a nigel lawson esque de-regulation.And is there any evidence it has worked? He hasn'tIs that it…. Is that what you’ve got ? Come on Dave, you’ve got more than that in your locker surely
I'll like to add that Bankers wages increased above expected levels during the cap., meaning bankers were less reliant on incentive based bonuses, they were getting wage increases above inflation while low income earners wages stagnated. The cap was introduced to disincentivise bankers taking unnecessarily risks in order to chase ridiculous bonuses i.e. lending money to people who obviously couldn't pay it back in the first place, The main issue was they were taking bonuses before people even began paying back. Honestly even the likes of McKenzie and Liddle are probably less bad - they are scum with the morals of diseased rats and a long history of publishing utter lies but even they have a code of behaviour.
Oakeshott on the other hand spews the same filth but also serially abuses the trust of her sources, to the point of imprisoning them in Vicky Huhne’s case. It says everything about the state of British journalism that they didn’t shun her so badly she had to leave the country.
