Green investment, no new fossil fuel projects, national wealth fund, big increase on renewables, end of non-dom and end of charity status for private schools.

It's very far from perfect, I agree with you Dave, but I am very much on board with all the above and think it will tangibly improve the country.

The change we need will take time.
Yes, and my faith - like no doubt yours - on all of these limited gains actually being put into practice is zero...because that's just what Starmer and co. do.

Only if you support short term policy and politics. Going to take more than a year or one Government to see net benefits.

You'll see how much Starmer can be trusted.

Did you believe his promises when he stood for leader?

Get ready for more of that ditching of policy and principle....the comical thing is that those of us who detest Starmer and his ilk and those who are willing to hand them a chance each KNOW that he'll ditch any progressive policy.

Dave is absolutely right on this point, no dignity to be loss suggesting bankers shouldn't be getting bonuses while children starve.
He doesn;t care mate...he just wants to be a 'winner' for 24 hours...then he'll sit back and take the renewed austerity.

You are right, I dont care, growing up in the 80s and watching this country die due to Thatcher and her policies.

Then as an adult watching Johnson, Truss and Sunak destroy the country and murder people.

Yes, I dont care, get them gone, if Hitler reborn replaces them, I dont care.

The cap was introduced to disincentivise bankers taking unnecessarily risks in order to chase ridiculous bonuses i.e. lending money to people who obviously couldn't pay it back in the first place, The main issue was they were taking bonuses before people even began paying back. It was truss and kwasi who had the brass neck to lift it, previous tory governments didn't dare cos it's bad optics during austerity, covid and living crisis's. the labour party should've re-introduced the cap, i find it strange how suddenly labour supporters (i will be voting for labour btw) are all for a nigel lawson esque de-regulation.
So has the cap changed behaviour in the industry? I'm assuming as you're in favour of keeping it that you had evidence as to its efficacy.
