Slay them Queen.

If no one from a minority background stands a chance of getting near a leadership position and you don't think thats a problem fair enough
Let's take a chill for a second and consider that Khan is 3 times London Mayor. Also, a certain membership of tory affiliation picked truss first before sunak got the top job by default.

We've all had a drink tonight, I know I have, lets let the dust settle and see what the maniacs we can all laugh at conjure tomorrow...

Imagine a world in which the local CLP runs a democratic selection process.

….the other issue Starmer needs to address is ensuring Labour MPs select the leader or at least select 2 candidates that the membership chose from. We can never return to the members selecting another Corbyn to take Labour into the political wilderness.

To think the Party lost outstanding MPs and potential leaders like David Milliband and Andy Burnham due to the ridiculous member selections. It can’t be allowed to happen again.

Once again Eggs, David Miliband quit long before Corbyn became leader, under the system that elected Blair. Also he was not an outstanding MP (he was given a safe seat and his achievements as minister, or even as a special advisor, were minimal) and as a potential leader he’d have been firmly in the chocolate teapot class - his subsequent career at Sland and now at the charity that pays him high six figure sums a year shows this.

Plus of course when Corbyn did win in 2015, he was one of four candidates that MPs had put forward. When Ed won in 2010 he was one of a multiple choice group too.

…David quit after losing the leadership election to his brother. A ridiculous situation. David was an outstanding MP & Minister, the party lost a bright light when he vacated Westminister.

Labour MPs have to predominantly select its leader to avoid it becoming unelectable.

Ok - name one achievement of his as a minister or as an MP.
