I never liked Blair but at least he had some good ideas for Health, Education and better pay for workers at the low end of the pay scale. Starmer has no ideas other than not being the Tories. I'll vote for them because I think Rachel Reeves will really help the economy get back on track, but I wish they had a leader with some backbone. Still regretting that it wasn't John McDonnell's turn to be the stalking horse candidate when Corbyn got in. What a different country we'd be living in.

Blair really didn’t have those ideas. Even the minimum wage and tax credits were in fact an attempt to avoid structural reforms that would have left people far better off.

Another promise broken by the Red Tories...

Do think some people don't really or cant understand how policy development like this works. People talk about 'weakening' ' promise broken' However, this sounds like trying to make it operational and so it tackles the issue (exploitative contracts) without having the law of unintended consequences.

You do have to consult with business as well as the unions etc. And changes will always be made as you move down the road to implement something, it's just the nature of a world that's its more than black and white binaries.

There is a role for them, there have been times some moons back as a student they were perfect for my circumstances. For sure they are widely misused now. However, just to ban full stop, does not seem productive. And in the position I'm in now it would be horrendous.

Its Just another stick for the binaries of the far left and far right to beat masses with.

Nah, they promised a complete overhaul of the power dynamic in the workplace and contracts that pertain to it. This is not tweaking, it's dropping the corner stone of it.

Has that rat Rayner spoken up about this yet or is she still seeing to her own taxes to save her own skin?
