Do parties not use social media to influence and shape thinking?

It's a reality, and your putting your fingers in your ears and shutting your eyes won't change that.

I get that there's a frustration with politics in general, and I feel this too, but this tory government is so immoral, so uncaring and selfish and with evidence suggesting criminal thatbit has to be addressed. Under them we are headed to a place I didn't dream I'd see in my lifetime and there needs to be a clear united message from the people that politicians now and in future will not ignore.

Be frustrated but maybe don't fall for the same old divide and rule that's key to the tory strategy.

You don’t see how you’re falling for the divide and rule strategy yourself?

No, I am not going to have them push me away from Labour and I am sure that many will be of the same opinion.

If the tory troll wasnt on here proactively sticking the knife if with every post then this conversation wouldn't be happening.

He's doing the same in the Ukraine thread. Consistently showing tacit support for a colonial warmongering criminal and attacking the victims.

Mate, come on now. Look at the bloke's (I think) posting history across all of GOT. He's well known as one of the bigger WUMs going and previously had a very long ban from the CA forum for honest and good reason. If all he gets back in return is being called a Tory, I think that's more than fair, don't you?

Sensible debate can be had here but not with him - he wont let it.

You and Jimmy Jeffers seemingly have strong views and certainly valid ones that should be properly discussed without the pantomime.
Yes, @Charro notice you and JJ don't get the same response?

He's a known contrarian and wum, albeit a highly entertaining one. Not sure if you are aware he was previosly banned from the CA for similar antics? He thrives on it.

I noted he posted this in the Conservative thread:

They're a rabble.

I tend not to post in this thread because everyone knows they are and they're on the way out of office for a few years.

I chuckled. It's actually because there's no reaction to be generated in there. This thread? He's sat there chuckling as the scrap kicks off. Dave loves it. Loves it. So excuse some of us for not taking him entirely seriously.

My advice? Ignore us. We're not being entirely serious either. As you say, it's a few folk on an Everton forum.
Sir Kier currently eating mince pies with Alan Titchmarsh on Love Your Weekend lol
Uh oh, could this be his 'sausage roll' moment?

Anyway lads, lets have a truce for Christmas, lets all just agree that The Conservatives are the greatest threat to the people of this country in the history of mankind and Labour, despite its many issues and its potential vast movement away from Left Wing policies is the "best" option at this time to try and fix the multitude of issues this once Great Nation faces over the next Decade.

If nothing else, we owe it to these people.

  • 350,000 more children were pulled into relative poverty (after housing costs) in 2021-2022. That means 4.2 million children (29% of all UK children) were in poverty - up from 3.6 million in 2010-11.
  • 45% of all children in poverty were in families with a youngest child aged under five
  • 71% of poor children lived in working families
  • Poor families have fallen deeper into poverty: 2.7 million children were in deep poverty (i.e. with a household income below 50% of after-housing-costs equivalised median income) 500,000 more than in 2010/11
  • 47% of children in Asian and British Asian families are in poverty, 53% of children in Black/ African/ Caribbean and Black British families, and 25% of children in White families
  • 44% of children in lone parents families were in poverty
  • 42% of children in families with 3 or more children were in poverty, up from 36% a decade earlier.
  • 36% of children living in families where someone has a disability were in poverty

Excellent post, for the many and not the few.

Hopefully the next GE will see a massive rejection of right wing policies and strong support for centrist policies.
Labour may have moved to the right compared to its recent history, but it lost 4 GEs in a row, so it would be plain daft to keep doing the same thing and hoping for a different result. The party cant be a vehicle for vocal minority that no one, other than the terminally online care about.
