Yeah, we need to be rid of FPTP.

I live in a swing seat which is currently Tory, was a Labour party member but left last year. Will vote for them but would rather vote for the Green Party.

FPTP is not the problem - it’s the parties that are. Switching to any of the proposed replacements will make things worse (by empowering parties), not better.

We should ban all funding of MPs and PPCs from outside their constituency, and all central interference in local candidate selection or replacement.

Moderate Labour is good...not too left and not too right - lib dem
The Goldilocks Option
This lot make Blair look like Trotsky.

It isn't even an option they're offering.

That isn't the Labour Party anymore, it's a hollowed out organisation that's been populated at the top by racists and careerists who just want power...the power to keep things EXACTLY as they are.

This current Labour Party is basically Cameron's Tory Party.

The current Tories are UKIP from a decade ago.

That's true.
Jim Callaghan took over from Harold Wilson around 1976.
Callaghan was a sympathiser of neo liberalism, yes the same ideas that Thatcher put into operation.
The last socialist labour party ended with Wilson.

The one thing that gives me hope is that they are so useless and such a small % even of the PLP that should they win the next election, it should be relatively easy to remove that crust and get better people in power. It was somewhat mad today that the best question of all of them (from Lilian Greenwood, who asked why in such a worsening global situation we were still cutting the army) wasnt asked by Starmer and has not - as far as I am aware - been much picked up by the media either, even though Sunak's response (that the military decides what the money is spent on) was absurd.

The Labour Party even under Blair had a programme that attempted to close the gap in terms of living standards and taking a bit more control over the economy. What sets this lot apart - despite all their bollocks about consulting trade unions where it's appropriate - is that they are a dyed in the wool capitalist party and proud of it.

I know Mandelson under Blair was famously caught saying "I'm very relaxed about people becoming filthy rich", but he was by no means typical of even Blairism. Starmer's words however are "we're not just a pro-business party, we're a party that is proud of being pro-business"...which in conjunction with the broken promises to poorer families is a declaration that something qualitatively has changed.

The day an alternative to 'Labour' is set up then this lot will fold. Momentum have the rank and file membership and dynamism to cut free from Starmer's party, and there's plenty of unaffiliated trade unions they could tap into for funding. I can see that happening once this lot get in and sicken for good working class people from ever countenancing handing them their support again.

The rest of the MPs are petrified they'll be deselected so they wont pipe up.

The Starmer Gang have control of the NEC and all disciplinary committees in the party. They'll do exactly as they please.

It's time to ditch 'Labour' and go again. Unfortunately it'll take another term of office and a few more years for that to happen, because there's always idiots on the left who think the Labour right wing are capable of reforming to something more radical in office. They're not. They'll be even more right wing. These people are not ideologues they are careerists and the LP is their business organisation they want to own and control.

It's always been full of racists

It's always been full of racists

It's a party that's always been a welcome home for the marginalised...now it just marginalises the marginalised further.

The Forde Report has it all in it: the racism towards Afro-Caribbean party members is endemic in the party leadership. Far more prevalent than that bogus anti-semitism charge.

I disagree, as with before 2015 they think they are stronger and cleverer than they are which is why they've acted as they have. Events will no doubt come along, they'll obviously fail and will be replaced.
