I'm confused.

Nobody in Labour is suggesting that nobody should be paid less, we're just suggesting that the rich pay more tax.
Wouldn't be confusing, if say for instance that hero of the Left Corbyn included in the Labour Party Manifesto that MP's wage would be frozen for 3 years and then any future rises would be linked to the Public sector (you know nurses, street sweepers, dinner ladies, the people he champions). But I'm not going to hold my breath for that one. After all said Socialist has a net worth in the millions, and a wife (OK I'm playing the man not the ball again) who's worth is difficult to quantify as she uses offshore banks to take care of the money her Mexican based company makes. But there are some pointers to her socialist activity..

."However, in 2015, Laura Alvarez coffee company came under scrutiny accusing the company underpays their workers. According to reports, a farmer earned 93p for 500g coffee which Laura Alvarez sells for 10 pounds"

But it's odd because we are looking at a man who it's alleged divorced his second wife for insisting their son went to a grammar school rather than the local comprehensive, yet his present missus is dabbling in alleged tax evasion and screws her poor Mexican farmer suppliers to the floor. You obviously have your views on what a true socialist is and I have mine.

Maybe for the UK (but then confusion on the issues and boredom are switching people off) but really back in the normal world most people don't give a damn.

Sure, I wouldn't wish to speculate what was most important for regular folk, but for politicians, this is easily their biggest issue, both of this parliament and probably the next too. It's not for nothing that the Queen's speech was cancelled due to the lack of other stuff to announce.

Assuming what you say is accurate, and irrespective of the point you're making, a supermarket frequently sells produce at a far greater mark up than a ten fold increase.

Your obviously correct,my point was that the rest of the geographical world are just laughing down their sleeves. That's if their media bother reporting on it.

i) MPs pay is no longer under the control of MPs, so he could not plausibly promise anything like that
ii) his wife is Mexican, so of course the profits she makes from her Mexican based company will be offshore (ie: in Mexico)
iii) 93p for a pound of coffee was actually more than the coffee futures were trading at in the month that article was written - the average price in August 2015 for Coffee C futures (the Arabica beans that the firm was selling) was 120.55 USD per pound (the low was 117.10 and the high was 139.00), and 93p then was worth $1.42.

Could always commit Labour MPs to donate any increments to charity as a few (very few) did with the last pay rise. As for his wife, she is resident in the UK so liable to UK taxes and the point about coffee was that her company nail the struggling Mexican farmers to the floor on price. Modern Socialism in action.

Paying more than the going rate is "nailing the struggling Mexican farmers to the floor on price"? A Mexican paying taxes on a "Mexican based company" in Mexico is tax avoidance?
