Current Affairs The Labour Party

I know, I’ve seen it throughout my life but believe it to be wrong. The original purpose of an MP was to represent their area of the country at Westminster. It will no doubt be argued that the MP, wherever they come from, will do just that but one day you could have the extreme position where all MP’s originate from London to be dropped off around the country. Everyone does it but It just doesn’t feel right …..

An MP representing their area of the country (rather than a party, a faction in that party or the interests of their own narrow class) is the only way that our system can work properly and to go away from it is a big reason why we are so dysfunctional at the moment.

The NEC decision to impose a shortlist was a disgrace, as was how unnamed cowards slated the local party for objecting to it.

If the Labour Party can't win an election on the back of all the lies, sleaze and ineptitude of the Conservatives term then it may as well fold as a political entity.

R.I.P. Labour Party…you are right of course, Boris is getting slated from all the media, his own party and the public, and Starmer still cannot lay a glove on him or generate support for Labour. Starmer is a waste of space, he is no politician, people wouldn’t follow him to the pub bar even if he bought the drinks….unless the Tories themselves bring down Boris he is safe, and they will win the next GE…..

Don't you feel what the rest of us feel that piece by piece, Johnson is dismantling the very fabric of the Conservative party, to save himself, they on Johnson's orders have deflected and delayed partygate to such an extent that the whole Country is tired of it and the inflation, cost of living, energy crisis has now got out of hand and control because of it. The Conservatives are running the Country into the ground at the moment, even you can't deny that and the reason is they are too preoccupied with defending that bumbling idiot Boris Johnson, to the detriment of the whole Country. Voters have long memories and a few insincere sorry's won't change that.

I do believe that the defence of the stupid accusations around Partygate is wasting government time, but that’s down to Starmer. I have said before that I want a strong opposition to hold the government to account, but tbh Starmer is so far out of his political depth he could try for a thousand years and never beat Boris. Labour have to say thanks but no thanks to this weak chinned automatron and find a leader….

With a much reduced...single figures most probably...majority is where my bet would go, said that last year.
iirc, pre election many were saying the tory backnroom boys would roll him before a year was out once safely elected.
How long has he been dodging now?

Keir has played a blinder with the Tory boys, allowing just enough pressure for the saga to rumble on in the headlines and allowing the Tory party to capitulate from within.

It’s working well.

Pete’s constant deflection and borderline idiotic rhetoric shows the current delusion of the Boris fan base. Boris is unelectable and the party will sink with him in. Poor man has been suckered in, bless him. It’s a similar mindset to how those fragile minded Americans become Trump extremists, Pete’s just a UK version of them with spouting lies on the internet.

Keir’s and the Labour parties best hope is to roll into the next GE with Boris as the leader of the tories and watch them get decimated.

So your now saying it's Starmer's fault Boris and all the Tories partied ? You'll be saying next Starmer delivered the alcohol and made the Tories drink it. Look mate the only thing that's Starmer's fault was making the Tories bring in a windfall tax on the big energy companies and if they'd have listened to Labour earlier then less of the Countries people would have a lot less debt and anxiety.
