Germany's centre-left party, the Social Democrats, won their general election (narrowly) yesterday on a manifesto that would've been dimissed as Marxist-Leninist had been introduced in the UK.
Excellent observation this.
There's nothing wrong with being progressive and leftist ideas in general, most people support them anyway.
Be bold and clear in the communication... (and stop special intrests & backstabbing)

Good to see social democrats and greens are winning in a country that 75 years ago was the European outcast. Now they're the democratic example.

Its clearly on the video if you listen

"They are not asking for the earth, they are asking for the basics. £15 per hour, the right to know their hours in advance and trade union recognition.

That ought to be the norm in 21st century Britain and it will be the norm if we have a Labour government

He backed £15 an hour, not as a minimum wage - just as a wage, at a massive multinational business. Which is fine to argue for.

What isn't fine is arguing for destroying small businesses with a near 100% increase in the current minimum wage.

Just listening to Nick Thomas Symonds on LBC, the shadow home secretary, being interviewed over MacDonald resigning over minimum wage, guess what Thomas Symonds did not know, the minimum wage... Honestly!

Anyway minimum wage is the red herring, tackle cost of living, rent house price etc.

68% is not ‘a near 100% increase’ and I’d be interested for you to show how small businesses get destroyed by it.

Can’t imagine why they’d feel threatened by a politician who is generally popular and has an actual wish to change things to make life better for ordinary people.

"Andy Burnham faced a backlash tonight as Keir Starmer allies warned him not to try and seek a swift return to the Commons after leaving the 'sh** work' of reviving Labour to others.

Appearing at a slew of events at party conference in Brighton, he has launched a series of jibes at Sir Keir for failing to lay out enough policy and not being 'serious' about pushing devolution.

But his activities have infuriated supporters of Sir Keir, who insist there is 'no way' he should be allowed to get a safe seat before May 2024 - when his term as mayor ends.

One shadow cabinet minister told MailOnline: ‘If he thinks he can swan off to Manchester and leave everyone else to do the sh** work, and then come back like a conquering hero he can think again."

Is that just the Daily Heil stirring the pot though maybe?

Don't name any of their sources as usual.

Aside from the many fkups of the conference, I do like how shadow ministers have started to use the word incompetence more.
They have some policy out which will now be chewed over. As for the idiocy, will go unnoticed for most part, due to the incompetence of Boris and chums, lucky in that aspect, as the haulage driver shortage has real tangible effect on people's lives as we type.
