Without spamming this thread on the Pienaar issue, the inevitable is going to happen and he will b off. I think you find it tough to argue we haven't got our money's worth. Id love to make a profit on our $2 mil investment to be fair.

Its gonna be tough , what with uny WEEKS left on his Contract .

£6m is just plain , SMOKING CRACK , sheeeeiiit .

Indeed it is. Conversely you can point at Coleman's record on the right and say Neville has no assists/goals.

I've been over how valuable or otherwise Pienaar is on another thread - to put it into one word, he's "decent". Not "fantastic", but "decent".

We'll just alter how we play on the left to make it similar to how we play on the right. Losing Pienaar isn't the end of the world by any stretch of the imagination; it's just an inconvenience.

Wont go into that as you've agrued your case very well.

I saw him a key member of the squad we're going to missed badly and it will be a big change around in terms of tactics because Moyes did see him as a key player.

But I've always said we've put ourself in a corner in terms of wages and who gets what since we've dished out £75k a week on Arteta. If a player is important to the squad, which I believe Pienaar was, they deserve to be on a good wage to their peers - that includes a Hibbert, Osman etc for eg...if Moyes believes they are vital to the cause. End of the day, whats the difference between giving £70k a week to a player or buying a player for £7million for eg over the course of 4 years?

I think he earned the same wage as Arteta based on last year but that's me. But for people to mug him off and say he wasnt good for us is a shame IMO.

But...we're skint and that can only get you so far.

I did send PM to LCAB for any news, but just read through the all the pages took half hour just from last night!!!

Happy to wait till monday or when ever you can fit one in mate.

Monday for Pm's . I need to CLEAR some shizzzzlle . Out and in . it takes HOURS ..

IF there something to say on Monday , but WITHIN REASON PEOPLE , eh ??

Being MR POPULAR IN REAL LIFE , I CAN WALK THIS , INTERNET THINGY , BUT ,.... Seriously , Dudes ...

Damn !!!

Most if not all of those were set pieces.

And he wasn't just playing left back as Nuno Valente was still here as well as Baines.

PS. Pienaar's just not THAT good.

A fair few goals we running into space Pienaar left.

Nuno and Baines played about 2 games while Lescott was at left back. Baines never had a sniff for over a season and a half untill Yobo got injured and Lescott when back to centre half.

And while you think Pienaar wasnt THAT good...we wont be able to replace him with anyone nearly as good as him and what he offered IMO. We dont have the money.

But in context it was said Baines makes Pienaar more effective, you could argue vice versa as Pienaar gives Baines room to play. Lescott scored 10 goals playing behind Pienaar....see the connection?

And how many assists as Baines got? That all just down to Baines?

Arteta - 1 assist (from a defelction), 2 goals. He's meant to be our "creative" player.

Swings and roundabouts. But its always funny when every time fans mug off a player who's leaving and say "he's shiote"

No. Almost all of Lescott's goals came from set pieces.

For me Pienaar has been brilliant for us to be fair. I loved him when he came despite the fans giving him **** at the start. He's been great for us and worked hard in EVERY game without always playing well. I don't like the way he's ****ed us about and has suggested he might STAY on NUMEROUS occasions the last one being LAST WEEK !!! (Sorry S;) however, his agent is a dog. Steven should be applauded for his ON FIELD play but NOT HIS OFF FIELD STUFF.....

I will miss him though......

Totally agree.

But that's togger now days....

Understand mate, the effort that goes into them sermons i'm quite suprised that you can produce one every week with the quality you do, without all the other shiiiite you deal with.

Did you see Carragher and Thompson on Soccer saturday, both very keen on Adam.

He did step up when Arteta was out and he fully deserved his player of the year award last year. I think we've got as much out of him as we were going to get though. If we're going to stick with 4-4-2, then Coleman, Fellaini and Cahill pick themselves in midfield. That would only leave the left side to accommodate our most creative player and top earner, Arteta. I think he gets overrun in the middle and too bogged down in defensive duties. It would be great to see him cutting in on to his right foot to shoot and linking up with Bainsey. We've also got very able cover in Bily, Gueye and Osman. Ideally we'd like to keep our best players, but it could be an opportunity to move forward.
