But you could do that with nearly all clubs. What teams haven't improved over the course of a decade?

From the 2001/2002 season:

Southampton.
Newcastle (finished 4th).
RS (2nd).
West Ham's team probably isn't as good as their team was then (7th).
Leeds (5th).
Middlesbrough.
Charlton.
Derby (they got relegated but the team was likely better than what they have now)
Ipswich (ditto).

Granted, some clubs have also improved to take the place of those who were relegated, but the point is that it's hardly a guarantee that you will improve. Half the teams from the 01/02 Prem season were relegated at some point in the next decade. And while some may be better now than they were then so they aren't on the above list, they got relegated at some point (Sunderland).

Don't get me wrong, I'd love a new owner, but not only have we had worse boards but lots of other teams have as well.

Sometimes I reckon selling Fellaini, Arteta and Rodwell might be the right thing to do in the long term. Clear the debts and start again. Get 50m for them 3.

I'm sick of this wank every ****in 6 months because of Kenwright. It's ****in incredible how screwed we are financially.

How many more transfer windows are we going to have of this ****? Until he dies? He's never going to sell his shares.

I don't think I'll be renewing next season. I've really had enough. I'm not putting another penny into the club from the end of this season whilst he is charge.

LCAB & THT I would just like to say that instead of reading crap papers and trawling the net in search of transfer news regarding Everton I look to this thread for info.
I am new to this forum but have to take my hat of to ye for the honesty ye have shown to date.

Clear the debts okay ... we'd still have no money for transfers. We lose money every year and our board refuses to give us any of their money so we'd still have no news in this thread even under that horrible scenario.

We are looking for a cheap striker with proven ability, why then are we not trying to sign Kevin Gameiro from Lorient. He has a great goal scoring record is only 23 and his club have accepted a 7m euro bid for him but he has not agreed personal terms.Piennars money down on him and get the lad in before he signs for Bordeaux.

We don't have any money to spend.

Apparently he's got his heart set on a move to Valencia, Bordeaux have had the bid accepted for him and Valencia wont match it but Gameiro wants to go to Spain, so i read on sky sports.

I also read in the same bit that Spurs and Arsenal was monitoring him aswell so even if we had the dosh we'd be lucky to get him.

When does this **** end though? I remember thinking surely the summer of 2008 would be the last and since then we've had 5 transfer windows of this absolute bollocks. The amount of time everyone on here and other forums must waste, checking for news must run into centuries of time.

You were doing ok until you wrote that.

Then it became stuff and nonsense.

Go check out Munich 1860 and what happened to them in their shared stadium.

Or how Inter want to leave the San Siro to triple revenue. In fact every Italian club does as they feel it's held them back.

Then come back.
Before I reply - this is clearly off-topic. If a mod thinks I should start a new thread, then please let me know or just move these posts. Cheers.

To business - I've read about both, and don't think that either applies.

Munich were relegated in 2003/4, the stadium opened at the start of the 2005/6 season and between the two dates they flirted with relegation again, this time from the German second division. Clearly, their revenue from the start of the time of stadium construction would have been badly impacted. On top of this, the management of the club were hardly poster-boys, being subsequently arrested on corruption charges. If your argument is that we are in danger of being relegated and thus unable to meet payments due to the loss of the Sky money and serious drops in match-day revenue resulting from dwindling attendances then I understand and agree. But this is a risk on any major stadium investment, not just a shared one.

Inter do not own the San Siro. The comparison is more or less meaningless as a result. They want to leave because they rent the stadium from the local authority. Would they want to leave if they owned the San Siro? It seems unlikely... Juve also constructed their own stadium because of this, after bouncing around many other stadiums in Turin. It has nothing to do with it being a shared facility.

I think all Evertonians would like a dedicated, world-class stadium to call our own. However, who is going to build it for us? Without success to fund a growth in support and increase revenue to allow us greater leverage with the banks, we're relying on an ultra-rich Evertonian. No-one else is going to want to spend £300m (£100m to buy the club and £200m to build the stadium), plus the additional money to invest in the team.

The people who bought Liverpool, given their desire to utilise their Sabermetric experiences in baseball and clear desire to build success over time, would have, unfortunately, been ideal owners for us. However the RS will continue to overshadow us because of their history and enormous support base. We should leverage that in our favour, rather than labour under it for another 20 years.

You know I've a vision of Tim Cahill coming through the doors at Finch Farm in a pair of Bermuda’s with a fresh tan, suitcase in one arm and Asia cup under the other, The place is empty except Coleman's in a janitors uniform and Anichebe's in blond wig at reception.

"Well, g'day mates, well, where the fack's everyone"?

Mate , this is gonna be a Monologue as opposed to a Dialogue as ;

A ; I HATE THIS SUBJECT and ; B ; I've got Internet Sex soon , and haven't the time nor the inclination .

However ; AS YOU BROUGHT IT UP ,...

See ,... Me and My Brother , for starters , have somehow found ourselves as Cheer-Leaders #1 + #2 , for a Regime we DO NOT FAVOUR .

I have maintained , WE have maintained that , " We have the Club's Back , 24/7 , 365 ... " WE DO .

WE DO NOT HOWEVER , have the Board's Back ...

Why ..??? 'CAUSE WE KNOW HOW THEY CARRY ON .... FOR AN INDISPUTABLE FACT . HAVE DONE FOR YEARS , tbh ...

This , Mr. Kenwright thing ... The LOVERS Camp invariably state ; He's a Blue 1!! Davie Hickson , The Boys Pen !!!

Well , to my mind , that qualifies him to sit by me , but not to be the BIG DAWG ...
Under his tenure , indeed in recent times , we have seen Wyness and then Elstone appointed , effectively , C.E.O. 2 more GLARING anathema to Everton FC , and it's Ethos and Supporters , I cannot think of off the top of my head .

You mentioned , Gosling .... You also questioned BOTH ME AND THT over recent days as to , IF this one comes in ... IS that one coming in ..???

Well , THE KID WAS WORTH £3M !!! That's £3m WE DIDN'T HAVE , yet our Chairman , the man whom acts and speaks OFFISHALL St. Domingo , chose to fall out , on a personal level with the Ex RS Agent , and the kid left for nothing .

Irrespective of your own views on his abilities , he could play wide , and in 18 months had scored goals in victories over both Manchester and Lliverpool Reds .

Such behaviour is UTTERLY unbecoming to the role of Everton Chairman .

I would add , the sale of Finch Farm AND Bellefield , in an age of UNPRECEDENTED Premier League income , in addition to our having NO-BODY on more than £65K p/w , yet are STILL CONSTANTLY POTLESS !!!

Furthermore , Lord and Lady Grantchester sit as Board Members , SHE , Heir to the Moores Millions . Not THE Heir but AN Heir . Yet , have WE seen , Penny #1 ????
So , if not , WHY ARE THEY HERE ???
Phillip Green ... Brought in BY Soft Arse , again TO ALLEVIATE HIS OWN FINANCIAL INADEQUACY , but FELL OUT with same when eyeing the Top Chair ...

THIS , to me , an ALL - KNOWING , ORACLE Mufuka On-Looker , to suggest that he is less than proactive in seeking a replacement for him , in a role which he has consistently claimed to be ; Only keeping the seat warm ; is , like ... DUH !!!

We are now in the 3rd Transfer Window , whereupon , NOT just the BIG Teams , but , Newcastle Sunderland , B'ham , Villa , Stoke City , West Ham , Bolton , have spent MORE THAN US ....
This , to MY MIND , is the best side we have had since we won trophies . One would imagine that anyone , as you note , that rarely misses a - FREE game , would have tumbled to that . That we were on the VERY BRINK .

Yet , nothing . NOT A FUKN TAP .

I myself said , The Peanut Deal was MEGA for us . However , ITS UNY MEGA FOR US IF WE SPEND THE MONEY . If not , we just weakened our - MAIN FUKN ATTACKING ARTERY left side . Yet , again , he sits on his hands .

My final pint is your saying to THT , " IF you know things ; POST ...!!! "

With respect kid .. CHEAP fukn shot ...

The SAME as we told you last week - when YOU WERE ASKING ABOUT INCOMINGS ; that WE DO NOT DO , RUMOURS / CONJECTURE OR KONBHEADS , NOW YOU want to know something specific , we should spill our guts ....???

I TOLD YOU , THIS IS A MONOLOGUE , but yourself , and the rest of the Kenwrong Lovers , please take this on Board ; the NEXT TIME YOUS FANCY BOOING AT 0-0 HALF TIME ... LOOK TO THE DIRECTORS BOX AND NOT THE DUG-OUT , AS THERE IS WHERE THE RESPONSIBILITY LIES ...

FACT .

VERO .

FUKN STAND ON ME !!!

Oh , and MY preferred option would be a collective of younger , PROACTIVE , CONNECTED , AND FINANCIALLY ABLE , people . Maleo r Female . Black , White , BUT BLUE !!!

I'd go from there .

I Thank You .

Take a bow son, take a bow!. Well said fella.

I very much agree.

Me too.

Dark days under agent Johnson, but it is well overdue that our club finds investment when you consider that most of the other teams in the premiership have managed it a couple of times.

I don't know the full picture, and I wish I did but the transfer window stats paint a gloomy picture.

For me the real missed opportunity was the Kings Dock. I honestly believe the sheik that bought citteh would have been knocking on the door if we had got to KD.

whats the deal with neville atm ??? 2.5 mill to spurs with 2 loans coming the other way ? this story wont go away , does captain pip want out ?

If there is ANY truth in this, we have to get the cab booked and get him down there quick.

The team does seem to lack direction when he doesn't play, but honestly he has never been a very good footballer.
