Any truth in the rumour (Kipper!) that Everton have stepped out of the race for Hammill on the understanding that Blackpool will then let Charlie Adam move to Everton for £2 million?...The price (£2m) makes it sound a bit daft..

Holloway has been on SSN saying he's received offers of £3.5m and he's plain out rejected them.

We can't afford him.

anything below 3.5mill and Holloway says he will bite them, and somethin about being a dog not to mess with.

bet he's the kind that humps legs.

adebayor is off to either madrid or milan from what ive read.

i cant see how this lad will get a work permit unless he has a european passport/dual nationality.

I'd love to know the ins and outs of these work permits. Is it the dual nationality that gets some players in? Or perhaps their age at the time? I'm sure there's been a fair whack of players that have joined the Prem who haven't had enough caps etc. Another story for another thread I guess, but surely there's a way. I like the way we haven't gone ahead and said he's joining, without sorting out the permit like we did with Banega if I remember rightly (or so it was to be perceived at least)

I work with a Burnley supporter and I just told him we're apparently close to signing Eagles.

His reply, I quote, "You can ****ing have him."

Think whoever Moyes targets in the striker department if anyone, has to be as close to match fitness as possible as we're likely to get just under 4 months from anyone on loan, so it would seem pointless having to spend several weeks and resources getting any incomings up to speed. Its one thing getting them to play in a particular system, but not being available for selection straightaway may be a bit pointless if its someone we might need to do a job from the off. To me that narrows the loan market down further as most of the ones that might be possibles may have little or no game time in the Prem in recent times. As we seem to have a hard time getting the work permits going for us- I'm going to have a stab at us maybe getting someone in from the Belgium league, closely followed by the Dutch or French. as apart from those already moved in the Prem noone stands out. Suppose thats what you might get with the loan market a little uninspiring at times- but still somewhat crazily hopeful that we'll have at least 1 player in that gets most of us thinking a little more positively in the short term.
