The L.C.A.B. / THT Transfer Window Thread ....

Utterly pointless. All it does is give every other bloody club a chance to poach him.

Either sign him or don't! If the loan has a permanent fee clause included, fair enough, but if it doesn't and we'd have to start discussions at the end of teh loan deal... absolutely pointless.

No but we'd surely have first dibs on him to sign him after the loan. If we re-read the statement from SP carefully, it doesn't mention that he's been sold, and just states that he's <currently> under contract til 2013, but that allows for a loan-followed-by-a-first-dibs interpretation - it's what the statement doesn't say that's interesting.

Otherwise, agree it's pointless...

I'd normally immediately assume that's the case, but what concerns me is that Sporting are saying it's for his "development".

Now I've calmed down a bit (lol), it's got to include a future fee for him in the summer.

LCAB actually said it was permanent... never confirmed that it was a loan at any point.

Lets just wait and see what is confirmed by Everton OS.

If it is a loan, can imagine there is a potential fee at end of season, otherwise would be pointless.

I think he's said both. THT's first post definately said we'd agreed to loan a Sporting Lisbon defender. The thread is too labrynthian for me to go looking for it though.

Too far back to go through but in LCABS words he definitely posted to questions asked about ownership

' He's OURS '

Unless the deal has been altered since Monday I'll trust our blue brother for now and him or THT have not posted to the contrary.

I think this is a good deal. We get to look at him and then if he is good, we can buy him. If not, send him back. Good on the club for this. Maybe Duffy/ Mustafi/Dier will be good in the next 5 years

Just heard something crazy on the transfer front; I'm actually hoping it's not true as I detest the little git.

Striker anyway. It's possible and plausable.

So we're baby-sitting him for 6 months as a favour to Sporting and the co-owners of the player, some agency, because he needs to go back home to England with his family because they're relocating back here?

Loan for 6 months - fee to Sporting, then fee in summer to pay off 3rd party.

Although LCAB said it best when he said: PERMANENT.
