Ah, so he woulda gone either way? I always thought they only took him cos of the loophole in his contract situation, and that if theyd have to pay they wouldn't have got him??

Everton are in for Eric Dier as broke yesterday. The word from Sporting Lisbon's end seems to be that they want to keep the young defender but the Toffees are keen to thrash out a deal.

I wonder what the hold up is? I'm sure that if he'd signed the dotted line he'd have been trotted out as there's a lot of demoralised Evertonians following the depature of Yak and Pienaar.

This is Everton. Anything and everything can go wrong with transfers.

on a different note, apparently Dale Jennings has been at FF with his family - supposed verbal agreement of £600k (from NSNO). Could be BS but sounds believable as it's the market we're shopping around in.

I would literally explode with excitement if that was true.

EDIT: Just read that on NSNO, looks like a load of bull sadly. Reeks of people claiming a source but just bandwaggoning.

OR , we'd have an extra , able to play wide , scored against the RS AND the Mancs , midfielder ....

When can we realistically except to hear confirmation of this Dier deal? Sorry if I've missed an update on this just thought I'd read yesterday that it was done.
