Touch was fine, technically you could see he was a proper footballer. Positionally he was a bit dodgy, but that's understandable in your first premiership game, especially playing defensive midfield.

I think anybody who judges a player based on that amount of football is an arse, he's had nowhere near long enough to be judged. I have no idea how he'll do but if Moyes thinks he's good enough I'm happy to trust him

yes me too, give him a chance. At least he doesnt have a mega price tag around his neck like Felli.

just like any other conversation after a player played his first game you are entitled to say 'what did you think of him'?

my first impression was his touch was heavy. i'll judge him after he has had a decent run in the side. they are different things.

sheesh, some people are touchy around here if we can't talk about a new signings first game.

it was inviting first impressions on our new 6 million pound defender.

on an everton forum.

I think he'll be fine.

Don't forget that he's had to make the transition from a slower paced Spanish league, once he gets up to pace with the premiership he'll be spiffing.

Wasn't a go at you, I was just pointing out that I think first impressions mean **** all when it comes to rating a player's ability. Some people watch someone for a few minutes, see them make a bad pass or tackle & then decide they're crap & so go on about how bad a player they are. Wasn't saying you were, just that people are stupid for doing so

ok dude. i was just curious what others thought of him after his first game as i love talking about all things everton.

Hid a bit in all honestly. Too early to make any assertions though.

Fingers crossed, although I am a bit concerned by A.Madrid being keen to move him on so quickly...
