the players won't get us relegated thankfully, but he needs to get it into his head that our experienced players are the reason we've had a [Poor language removed] season. players like robles, stones and besic have given us so much more positivity than howard, distin and barry in respective positions.

I know they were beaten tonight but that Sours team is very young......the commentator was saying their average age tonight was 24 and that Adebayor is the only player aged over 30 they have used all season.

Comoare that to the Dad's Army we sent out in many games in the fall.

Don't you think it's a 2 way thing? The way Robles is commanding his area is breeding confidence in his defence, and the Sterling incident - where he realised he was up against one of the fastest players in the league, and held him up then secured his near post - got Coleman and Stones out of a jam. The way he's been communicating and even high-fiving with Stones, inspires me to believe we're building a young solid foundation from the back.
To bring a has been, who's been out of form all season, back and disrupt our continuity will have me hating a manager I actually wanted before we got him. SSN have confirmed the ridiculous change of goalie, and coupled with the stat that we've played the oldest team in the PL this season, shows Martinez to be a fake when he praises the virtue of a youth policy, and young player development

What are you saying, JP?

Has it been confirmed that Howard is playing tomorrow night?

it's amazing how the situation has changed ,earlier in the season we we're harping on about getting another keeper as it's clear this Robles fella isn't up to the job, well clearly a lot of posters were wrong..................i'll trust the manager on this one ,he sees the players in training ,so I guess he's the man to make decisions, and lets not judge Howard on an away match to Chelsea as the reason we should banish him from Goodison all together !.

Howard has been leaking goals all season.
Robles comes in plays really well and has kept 3 clean sheets on the run.
This is a no brainer.
Flapping beard on the bench

Hmmm, whilst yes correct the stats support your stance. There is no way Robles is the reason we have kept clean sheets. If he had HIBBERT Distin and alcaraz lined up infront of him he'd be conceding goals.

Who ever the manager sees as his No.1 should be starting vs Chelsea. Simples!

If Howards in tonight the writing is on the wall......we will lose 1.0 to a free header from 5yrds out as he stands on his line to watch it fly past him and then proceed to moan at the defence for not clearing it ..

Eto'o and Distin might have a different viewpoint to that...

The fact Eto'o still got near the first team despite killing the dressing room and Naismith seems to be captain/manager and making on the pitch decisions means his management of his big players has been suspect

I am very pro Martinez, but just an observation that has been there for some time.

Yes its a combined effort but robles has played his part.
Howard has been awful and should have been dropped well before his injury.
The west ham game robles was brilliant and should no way be left out.

Well its quite clear from Martinez's press conference that Howard starts tonight. With him being after that Young Norwegian keeper it seems to be that Roberto has no faith with Robles.

I think Robles friendship with Distin and Eto'o has cost him his future at the club.

Evertonians might like their boo boys but I tell you what, we do love them coming good too. Route to Everton fan favourite - be rubbish before you're good. :)

Barry Horne before Wimbledon Day being a prime example.....;)

If only Glen Keeley had toughed it out, who knows what might have been :pint2:

I thought they would come good this season. Pochettino is a good manager and I would love it if Martinez trained our players so they had their energy however I guess it would be difficult with the ages of some of our players.
