To be honest what annoyed me tonight waa that we had two international defenders unavailable to us becuase of bad planning of the feild. We had one centre back out another half fit a young inexpierenced right full and an inexpierenced bench - in a crucial European tie. credit to the lads in the performence but how much of this was avaoidable. If we had gotten our finger out during the close season - could Neill and Heitinga not been available to our threadbare squad - playing 17 year olds and having two seasoned internationals in the stands is ludicrous. Seems ridiculous to get this far working hard all last season, for gaffes to be made in the close season to jepordise an entire seasons work.

Reached the point, that I don't actually know anymore whether to cry or laugh if one of our players goes down. Can honestly say I've never seen such an injury jinx before.:dodgy:

I never have for Everton and I'm trying to recall if I've ever seen another club anywhere run into an injury bug like the one we're facing.

I don't recall one.

Really?

When was that and who did they have out? Just curious.

when they were in the prem they had so many injuries that they couldn't fill the bench, even with kids, and as i recall they had no fit sub keeper. I'll ask my mate, he's a leeds fan bless him

Particularly frustrating that.

Hopefully, the experience will stand the youngsters in good stead & we'll see the benefit in the longer term.

Can't entirely blame bad planning for them being unavailable. It's easy to say we should have concluded the Lescott sale quickly in hindsight. We could have done, but probably for less money and looking like we were rolling over for Man City to tickle our belly and take our best players with no fight.

I applauded Moyes stance at the time, as did many others both on here and in the media, but now we get "Oh if only we'd sorted it sooner."

Have our cake and eat it. Hmmm, cake! I love a bit of Jamaican Ginger myself.

Just agree with Davek that we should get rid of the hoo-doo voodoo bollocks we've been hearing.

And also Moyes needs to just give the youth a change in certain games.

"I think the main reason for the injuries is down to overloading them. Sylvain has had to play just about every minute of every game."

Then dont effing play them! He ended up playing Duffy, Coleman and Baxter, then he should've started them and taken them off when they're tired rather than risking 1st teamers.

Gosling, unlucky hamstring, Distin shouldnt have played. And as for Jo's injury...he's says its not serious but that was said about Pienaar and he missed 10 games.

Joke.
