It was always gonna be like that. They announced an election after Brexit was delayed yet again so it's still fresh in peoples minds.
There is more than Brexit though. Sad some people are bothered about that rather than things more important like the NHS and Education etc. Embarrassing.

Ah Jeremy the anti-semitic terrorist - looks like the billionaire media moguls managed to spend enough money on facebook ads to smear him. The fact that he himself has never made an anti-semitic comment, compared to Johnsons multiple shows of sexism, racism, homophobia

C'mon, be serious. I said many pages back that it's OK to lose, but what you must not do is lose badly. It is the attitude that "Scottish/northern/whatever seats are just there ready to be won if only we get our act together" that will prevent it from happening. Taking a single vote for granted is what lands a political party in trouble. Labour have taken their working class heartlands for granted for far too long.
There is also the assumption that Tory votes in this election are "on loan" to get Brexit done. I would caution against that. It's very easy to vote Tory again and again having done so once, no matter what your roots.

I don't think I've had that attitude.

I've just owned the election above. This election failure (presuming the exist poll is accurate) is squarely down to people like me who felt the manifesto was good.

I have never felt the Scottish seats would come back. I think I've even said on here, I have no idea why Labour even visited Scotland. The seats have gone. I support Independence.

We have a major issue in Northern and midlands England. Our position on Brexit has crystallised a lot of wider issues. Issues that began under Blair, and have continued under Corbyn. I don't think the voters come back, but I think some will be less likely to vote for the tories once Brexit is done. Yes the conservatives will want to keep them, and have an opportunity to, but it will be very challenging.

However when you look at the breaks for those under 35, those under 50 and those over 65, I can't be on board with the idea they are done for 15 years (3 cycles). Politics moves very fast.

If Boris Johnson gets a majority the country deserves everything it gets.

Every erosion of civil rights, every divisive pitting of one community against the next, every person not getting a bed in hospital, every run down of sector as part of trade negotiation, every scandal, every humiliation on an international stage that will come from this cowards subservience and stupidity, every bit of empty rhetoric and lie that spews out of his fat oaf face, every bit of nepotism and favour his friends and mistresses get, every bit of continued austerity, every moment that democracy is run roughshod over, a slow death of the Union and every emboldened racist and xenophobic that will follow him.

They deserve it all if this is how they voted.

Why is Liverpool very pro Labour out of curiosity?

Thatcher advocated managed decline of the whole city and region. Was happy for us to die off basically.

People have every reason to traditionally hate the Tories, but at some point you have to actually critique what Labour do instead of mindlessly voting for them no matter what.

Knowsley is the second safest seat in the country for Labour, and yet Labour did absolutely nothing for this area between 1997-2010. Yet they still vote Labour like victims of Stockholm Syndrome every election.
