To make matters worse, I'm down to my fourth choice shirt for the Christmas party tomorrow as I put the others back in my cupboard instead of the wash.

If the Tories are winning by a majority then it's not individual votes that got them there. It's hundreds of thousands of people who have switched from labour to them.

So can't be arsed with any of the 'its your fault because you voted Tory ' nonsense, it's because the majority of the country did. Which makes your labour support in the minority of the country, you are the minority in your support. Same as if you voted for lib dem/Brexit or any other non hope of winning party.
Alright Boris

Russian Money, Fake Ads and a State Broadcaster on your side. The left is done for a long long time.

Enjoy your austerity, the continued under funding of our NHS and most of all Brexit. Scotland need to get out as soon as they can, England is full to the brim of small minded bigots.

Good luck to everyone who isn't comfortable.
If that happens it's hard to see Labour ever getting in again.

Listening to him talk, I do genuinely feel bad for John McDonall. Although I am about as polar opposite to his world view and policies, I do believe that everyone who pursues public office does so from a place of wanting to do good and to improve what they see are the injustices in the world.

Ultimately that's why I voted Labour today. Because I think at its core the party has the right ideas.

But I'm in no way surprised that this has happened (well, seems to have happened, we don't know for sure).

My parents have voted Tory today for the first time, staunch Labour working class all their lives, I've been ripping the pi$$ out of them for weeks when I've gone round, my mum said if brexit was done she'd never vote Tory.
I just don't even get this at all. I mean Brexit might not even happen still for a while.

Is this what you meant? Sadly very many do so out of financial or power greed.

Why would it take Labour 3 elections?

There are 50+ favourable seats in Scotland. They need to win 70-80 back.

Brexit will cause enormous upheaval. There are wide demographic trends. Lets not go too overboard.

It's a good result for the Conservatives. It's about what Labour had in 2005. They lost the next election.

C'mon, be serious. I said many pages back that it's OK to lose, but what you must not do is lose badly. It is the attitude that "Scottish/northern/whatever seats are just there ready to be won if only we get our act together" that will prevent it from happening. Taking a single vote for granted is what lands a political party in trouble. Labour have taken their working class heartlands for granted for far too long.
There is also the assumption that Tory votes in this election are "on loan" to get Brexit done. I would caution against that. It's very easy to vote Tory again and again having done so once, no matter what your roots.
