No, we hold many cards as well. Trade deals are never about dictating terms. They are an actual agreement.

What Cards do we hold over America that makes us equal Trading partners?

But he's lying though. Pharma was the driving force behind the renegotiation of NAFTA. They are by far the most active lobbying sector in overseas US trade negotiations

For example:

Eye watering difference in prices, no wonder American pharmaceuticals are lobbying us, without NICE and EU regulation its big money, their share holders and hedge funds must be salivating on getting in on the NHS.

Ok you were once 'poor and vulnerable" ---I cannot comment on that as I don't know your history. What I can't square, is that you will vote for a party whose austerity policies are driving this nation into a pit of hatred and bile, while those who are in the top echelon of wealth accumulators hide their money away in tax havens, Name me a policy over the past 10 years which helps the poor, vulnerable, disabled and low paid exploited working people, and doesnt cut vital public services such as police, firefighters, as well as starving local authorities of much needed cash under the guise of "private good, public bad" . What in your view is the best way in which the tories will help to rectify the damage already done by themselves?

I have just had to edit and post that (I hope you don't mind) on some of my Tory mates walls on FB.
Poetic stuff mate.

I know you’re on the wind up, but it has to be said, you are a typical, arrogant Tory arsehole. You know they’re being duplicitous, you know they’re lying and cheating and yet you come on here to rub people’s noses in it.

Thank God your generation will perish soon and we can start again.
If They get what they want with the NHS it will be sooner rather than later.

Are you really being that daft??

DUe to the way the NHS is run we do not pay the same prices (not even close) to what we would be charged by US pharma corps if the trade deal was done. It would bankrupt the NHS in months and we would all have to be insured.

Such a poor response mate.
I'm confused as all hell at this. Is pointing out the existence of something tacit approval of it?

The US can say they want to sell to us. That's wonderful for them. Acting like this is a casua belli for a shift in the political landscape is daft, based on:
A) It ignores the fact that this has been in the public domain for at least 10 months & has been something many people on here have mentioned as a reason for remaining in the EU.
B) Is a wish list based on the wants of American Pharma companies, not a itemised list of whats going to happen.

Sorry I'm not getting riled up over something that amounts to 'Foreigners want things that Labour don't!'

I am not sure what you are missing ere. SImple fact.

If we allow the tories another run at ruining this country they look to have agreed a deal to sell aspects of our NHS to private firms who will charge us infinitely more than we pay now.

Also, they appear to be ready to apply pressure to allow their drug filled, tortured animal products to be allowed here too.

There is not good aspect to this.

Labour will NOT allow this to happen

FWIW the idea that the US would want the demolition of the NHS as part of a trade deal is not likely, and it sort of misses the point.

What they want is to be able to charge it more, just as they do at home (remember that the US actually spends more government money per person on healthcare than we do).

Again, I’m not sure why you are implying that I’m in favour of any of that. I think it’s you missing the simple facts mate.

Regardless, it’s a really lazy, hackneyed attempt by Labour to generate outrage.

While Labour are clearly overstating some of the concerns, all the Tories' had to do was say 'nope, no thanks, the NHS is off the table'.

They've clearly not done that. The problem here is, that the Tories have not released any evidence to the contrary about ongoing discussion and Boris Johnson's 'word' on something has no credibility.

Some reports that Cummings has resigned?

edit: it seems they are claiming he left a few weeks ago and therefore isn't covered by purdah rules when he publishes dogwhistle blog posts
