Well, "The state" gets loads back. Tax, NI, for one. Then the heavy lifting is at worse, shared with the companies, and if stuff goes tits up, the blame can be put on BT or Severn Trent or whoever.

That isn't really "loads", though. The various accountancy wheezes reduce the tax take considerably (for most, though BT are admittedly one of the biggest payers of tax in the country), NI is paid anyway and government / the company being able to blame each other just usually means that noone is blamed. I am not sure that is enough when we are talking about billions in state aid.

Think I’ll vote Corbyn as he’s promised me free broadband by 2030, and I’ve no reason to doubt he or his side-kick will renege on the deal. After all, he delivered on his promise to increase Police numbers and write off all student debt.

What a guy.

Maybe I have missed your point mate. I thought you want the Labour Party to own and control access and support of the internet in the UK.

I think its a terrible idea.

I am a bit cautious of the idea actually. My point though was more that if you are concerned about the state controlling access from a philosophical standpoint, then I see similar concerns regarding shareholders. Gatekeepers full stop are problematic.

The amount of serfs still in existence in this country is amazing.

Eh up! Sounds like Dave is primed to go all Queen Daenerys on us to free us serfs.

His full title from now on is: Dave, breaker of chains, slayer of moon heads, protector of the dock, dismissor of the impresario, first weary of the carpetbagger, high priest of the martinez, dislike of meis, moyes is not the messiah, K

but, if this was to happen, how would the ‘Labour Party own and control access and support of the internet in the UK’

Just sayin' - "Boris", "Communist broadband", "I'd vote Tory, they're for people like me".

Forelock tugging untermensch.

Things look a little different when presented in terms of momentum:

indeed, but it looks like the momentum is with Boris.....

Indeed. And succinctly highlights the lengths those in the center and right sink themselves in hypocrisy. They wag fingers from their neo liberal ivory towers critiquing supporters of Corbyn for not acknowledging any negative, but suckle on the teat and hang off every word of their politicians.

lol

None of this actually means anything, it's full on rant at this point.
