It’s a great idea for an election win, pulling this off would be a nightmare. Can’t imagine Virgin and other providers being happy with BT being state owned.

Why? Before it was privatised Royal Mail went up against private firms.

Haven’t got a clue about the Royal Mail stuff. I believe virgin have invested a couple of billion into Fibre networks across the country. I’m guessing if the state will now pay for the rest and wipe there broadband out they won’t be happy. Maybe they will get the state to buy the fibre.

Honestly unsure and could be talking complete nonsense.

But wouldn't free broadband run all other broad band companies out of business? Sky and virgin may survive but the likes of Plusnet would go out of business overnight

That would be done job loss that
