It's a hand sign used to denote ones affiliation to the white supremacy movement.

Is this really a thing, or something made up by an internet conspiracy nut with too much free time?
If it is a thing, referencing George W, what did white supremacists do before the 2000 election? Just wave to each other? Give a thumbs up?
I grew up in Mississippi and have lived in Alabama for over 20 years, so needless to say, there is no shortage of rednecks and ignorance, but I have never in my life seen that or heard of that until the last couple of weeks. All my life that has meant "OK". I'd hate to indicate to a black friend or stranger that I thought something was okay, and get my a** kicked instead.

Now I don't hang out with supremacists, so maybe I am just clueless, but this seems iffy at best?

It started out as a 4chan thing trying to get people to believe it was a symbol of white supremacy. That said, it is now kind of a myth that has become reality with people intentionally trying to troll with it and people actually using it.

Yeah it’s plausible deniability makes it an ideal trolling choice, but it’s undeniable that it’s been used by white supremacists in a very deliberate manner, so it’s trolling and a signal combined.

So some unnamed white supremacist at some unnamed time in an unknown place used a signal that he may or may not have known was a signal AND a troll that the internet made up. This was directed to an unknown/unnamed person that may or may not have been a white supremacist and may or may not have realized they were being signaled, or maybe ever trolled, by something the internet made up that they may or may not have been aware of.
This is undeniable.
And plausibly deniable.

I see what you did there, I like it! lollol

Not watched the documentary this is from yet but seems its' been getting downvoted by right wing bedwetters on IMDB etc so it must be good.

That's a stupid thing to hang on to. The Confederate Flag issue... let it go, it's not a battle worth fighting, it's lost. It's just no longer acceptable or appropriate.

I genuinely liked the flag as part of my Southern Heritage. "Southern Heritage" is very broad and encompasses lots of things that are good - manners, family, dialect, cuisine etc. However, slavery is stain on Southern Heritage and it's inextricably linked with most of the history of the South. Fair or not, like it or not, it is.

Whatever benign ideals that flag meant to many of us in the past don't matter anymore. It's been co-opted and used as a symbol of hate and repression and now that's what it represents. And because of that, it no longer has a place flying over public buildings or institutions. And generally inadvisable on private institutions that exist in public.

Oops. lol

Oops. lol

All that does is validate my post.

If you are going to go to the lunatic fringe, no matter which fringe, at least be able to spew the lines! I mean being stupid is bad enough, but dammit man, don't be stupid AND lazy.

"I'm not a historian" Lol, really? And don't forget my fries!

I'm not sure if guys like this should be given ever possible platform to spotlight their ignorance to the world, or should just be completely ignored because they add no value to anything. But I do know one thing. He's probably going to forget my fries....
