this campaign against me is a witch hunt and a sham mr tim.

No accusation from me here, I'm just asking the question.

I've chosen the fence sitting option for what its worth.

The fans are good people by and large and deserve better IMO. We could always do more though.

Question though is do these players deserve more support? Hopefully Carlo is backed 100% to move lots of them on.

it is a difficult watch to see so many passionate fans suffer like this weekend and obvious that things have to change rapidly. as part of soul searching do u think fans have a small part to play in improving so the everton get better??

Symbiotic, with winning comes happy fans. Until then a minimum requirements of a Everton squad is commitment, that in my opinion was certainly lacking in the second half yesterday, fans are free to express their happiness or unhappiness.

they are but it effects the team and keeps them performing badly so maybe their should consider their behavior instead of having tiny temper tantrums.

The real question is this....

Do players who do not give their best efforts regularly really deserve our support.

This should really be a two way thing.

My dad said they use to boo in the 70 and 80, and called the players out if they want pulling their weight.

These players are bring paid very well and fans expect them to play football. If they cant play at this level then leave but no who will pay those huge wages.

Once Silva had gone the atmosphere at Goodison has improved dramatically, there was no excuse for that abject second half performance yesterday. The fans have been nothing but supportive recently. The squad deserves to hear the critique, if they don't like it go!

i realize it may be difficult to hear such damning criticism as it may hurt egos but there have been some very brave and secure fans in here today fully committed to rooting out the problems holding back everton and i salute these unsung heroes. the fans have been holding everton back but this can change.

The only way I'd personally improve the situation is if the wife hasn't cleared out my old footy boots from the cupboard under the stairs.

Ask your dad about the cushions lol

It was like the Coloseum in Rome when the home team lost a chariot race.

Thousands of cushions were chucked from the Top Balcony and Main Stand after a poor performance.

Like frisbees, they were.

I blame the fans for tolerating performances like yesterday for far too long. For years we have been supportive of mediocrity at best and failure at worst. We will beat Brighton on Saturday and just like that what happened yesterday will be forgotten.
I do agree our fans are part of the problem is some ways, because as you say we tolerate a lot of this nonsense. We lost to Villa, Bournmouth, Burnley, Brighton away from home and loss to Sheffield United at home, it was obvious Silva had to go. Beating average teams like Burnley, West Ham, Watford and Newcastle and Southampton away from home is hardly anything to shout about. Look at all the teams that have beaten Liverpool home and away since we have. Burnley, Stoke, Hull, Swansea, Southampton, Palace, West Ham, Wolves, Leicester, Bournmouth, Watford and Villa.

To tolerate such an appalling record is ridiculous. Our failure to beat any of the big clubs away from home, when numerous teams have won at United, Chelsea and Arsenal. Look at how many times we've been knocked out of the cups in early rounds against average opposition. We could of easily got to 2 finals in the 2015/2016 season, yet lost against average United and City teams. I don't expect us to finish in the top 4 or win a trophy, however I do expect us to at the very least get a draw against Liverpool's B team, when we've spent the amount we have. If we didn't have any money and we were just rubbish I could tolerate it, but we have players who pick and choose when they want to play. We've failed to sign a proper striker since Lukaku left, numerous strikers have been on the market we could of signed Dembele, Llorente, Dzeko, Ings, Vardy, Perez, Origi and a few others.

My view is there problem is bigger than the manager, numerous managers have been and gone, same with players yet certain things remain the same. My view is that there are some people at Everton who are quite happy to be in the shadow of Liverpool, because they know Liverpool FC bring a lot of money into to the city. Numerous Liverpool players, managers and RS in the media have slagged us off in the media and Everton have never responded. Carragher continually laughing at mocking Everton, yet still being invited to Everton all the time is just ridiculous.

Then happen you should have titled your Poll “could some fans be to blame too”.

(the answer would still be “no”....the demise of EFC as a major force in this country since the mid 90s lays 100% with the people running the club, the managers they appointed and the players they sent out on the pitch)

"Hard to make an omelette without breaking any eggs"

Think that sums up the situation perfectly and that uneasy relationship between the fans and the team. Whichever side of the debate you are on.

Is the team poor because they lack support from the stands?

Or is the team under performing because the fans don't let them get away with it?

Either way something needs to crack. Everyone gets behind the team and see if that works. Or the players get torched by the crowd whenever their standards slip.

Either way you are going to break some fans (who can't support unconditionally after being kicked in the spuds repeatedly for years) or you'll break certain players (maybe the younger ones) if you go after them.

Something needs to change though. I'd go for the support the players option personally but other might not.
