Have to say it didn’t hurt as much as the 1990 semi final loss, quite probably as thought we were the better team during the game that night whereas this time Croatia deserved the win.

Overall was progress from previous World Cups/Euros even given the favorable draw and enjoyed watching them - winning a penalty shootout in particular was wonderful.

I felt sorry for Henderson tonight,I dont rate him and dont think he has had a great tournament like the pundits have made out,but from the start of the 2nd half he was left chasing shadows,the 2 wingbacks dropped right back leaving him battling solo

Well at least that’s over for another four years. We rode our luck to get to the semis despite offering nothing from open play. You can’t expect to win games if you don’t have any cracks on goal, and one shot in 120 mins is poor by any standard really.
Even chasing the game most of our passes were sideways or backwards and Croatia played the ball forward and had attempts on goal.
Kane was out of puff and Sterling offered little but still Southgate wouldn’t bring on Vardy until the game was lost. I feel that his pace and directness would have given defences more problems.
Southgate deserves credit for keeping the squad in harmony and good spirits but we need a true tactician to work alongside him.

For me Southgates stubbornness in his team selection finally came back to bite us. Playing with a horrendously out of form Alli and Sterling was akin to playing with 9 men.

I feel we absolutely underestimated Croatia, the media expected us to stroll in and batter them and I feel
That could’ve rubbed off on the England camp too

Sterling was decent tonight. Kane looked injured. Walker has been poor all tournament.

Gutted that we've blown it, yet again.
