The Fab Four

i doubt theres a better contingent of players 21 or under in the league, in fact i know theres not. if they develop as we hope in next couple of years and we add the right quality and experience to go with them we have an exciting future.
the thing i like the most with likes of kenny, dowell etc is they are born winners, something we've lacked at the club for decades

One of the most cringe worthy things I've ever seen. Even by their standards that takes some beating.

This comes close but not close enough

i don't think dowell will make it myself. I think he may come back to the prem like a duffy, forshaw has, but it won't be with us. Let's just wait and see, but it would be great if we could have all of them being very good squad members for the next decade or so, none of them stand out to me as possible world beaters though. Maybe lookman if he gets confidence.
I disagree, to early to make judgements on some of these players. The biggest thing for dowell is getting a manager to trust him.

Down the years how many players coming through in the premiership have looked world beaters at 19/20. Not many.
Look at Gerrard lampard scholes. They were talented youngsters at 19/20 not world beaters. Lampard used to get a lot of stick from West Ham fans as a young player.
Beckham & scholes didn’t really become united regulars untill around 22/23.

As of next season: average age 21.

Pickford (24)
Kenny(21) -- Holgate (21) -- Keane (25) -- ???
Baningime (19) Davies (20)
Vlasic (20) -- Dowell (20) -- Lookman (20)
DCL (21)
As you say, Onyekuru (21) will be here as well.

I think we need to keep adding to this conveyor belt. We've seen Gibson signed for up to 6mil and also Feeney being given a chance but I think we need to aim for 3 players each season to be signed at u21 level....not just the standard u23 side fillers/punts but really solid investments,

Were going to be fighting an uphill battle to make the top 4 and so need to bring in these kids and play them as much as possible so that in seasons to come they are a real team growing together.

if we could just add in a left back like Sessegnon from Fulham and also another centre forward we'd have a very strong squad base.

Let's be honest though, we couldn't actually start Premier League games with that team could we?

more like the Growing Influence of the Terrific Ten.

Holgate, Kenny, Pickford, DCL, Davies, Baningame, Vlasic, Lookman and Dowell back in the Summer, plus Onyekuru.

The potential in that young bunch is something else. Not the genuine article just yet but there's so much promise there. @Zatara must be busting veins. Average age of the squad must be tumbling.

5 of then were sign by Walsh.

Walsh hater won’t like this.

Lookman excites me, but clearly something about his game cant be right if he's not getting thrown in much.

Defensive duties i'd imagine
When he become better at protecting the ball when in possesion and improves his descision making, he’ll start more games. Lots of potential, but he is a little too rough atm.

Majority have the potential to be GOOD premier league players and not much more than that. With the exception of a couple of them that could excel if they assert themselves in the right way and develop right

Think more than a couple of them have the potential to be better than just good premier league players tbh.

We've got a really decent bunch of youngsters but none of them are stand out brilliant yet in the way Barkley and Rooney were to me. Obviously that's quite a high bar to reach but they all need expectations to be kept to a minimum.

True, but Barkley hasn't kicked on the way most of us would have liked. I don't think many of them are likely to reach the potential of what he still could be, but several of them should reach his current ability/more likely progression I reckon.

One thing does need saying though, the much ridiculed Koeman and Walsh were in charge of things when a lot of those players were signed for the club. No idea how much input Koeman had but if they are down to Walsh then he has earned his money in his time here for those guys alone.

5? I thought it was only 3 or 4? And Pickford was somewhat of a no-brainer imo.

I think Dowell has the most potential of the two, he's just got that touch of class that can't be taught, and just needs to be properly harnesses and surrounded with the other necessary skills required to be a top level player..

Kenny excellent in almost every game. He has such a look of Seamus Coleman about him. Strong in the tackle, nothing flash but positve going forward and happy to make 1-2s and get down the line and swing a cross in. Shows incredible passion and desire and for such a young man he's doing unbelievably well, which is of benefit to Seamus as it's giving him plenty of time to recover to 100% and be fully ready to come back. Allardyce knows he can trust Kenny and I am sure Seamus won't walk into the team from one game to the next. Competition at full back, who'd have thought it!

Actually, his sliding challenges remind me of Stones when he was first here. Great and running alongside his man, then sliding in and clearing the ball away.

That team would get bummed every week
