I think anybody attending the AGM in person would also be accepting those risks?
There's no reason they can't have it streamed online for those who don't want to attend in person. The COVID excuse really doesn't wash when we're packing the stadium.
It looks like I didn't match pronouns back up in a very cursory edit (I was very rushed due to circumstance), which probably caused confusion.
They would have to accept those risks to attend in-person, and they probably don't want to do so. From their perspective, it's a superspreader event waiting to happen. They might show up at the games because they are socially obligated/want to do so, but if there's a pretext to avoid such risks for what they see as no gain then we can expect them to do it.
Nevermind the hypocrisy that board members avoiding in-person attendance due to those risks are perfectly happy to send their employees out to run them for pay, or collect money from paying customers willing to run those risks. This is just what people of that stripe do.
Point being, I think calling them out for handling things that way on the grounds that they're trying to avoid fan accountability is a bridge too far. We don't have to suppose that motive to explain the behavior. If you want a guess, they're probably blithely unaware that this cross-section of the fanbase is this fed up. As long as they see behinds in seats, they probably figure things are fine with the fans.
