Funny cos i was listening to keith harris and he distinctly said that bill wasnt the reason it wasnt being sold. He pointed out the stadium and sharing a city with a famous football club as the major complication. If u dont believe it then thats your choice but he had no reason to lie about it. He also said abramovich looked at arsenal but turned it down as they didnt have a stadium at the time!
sharing a city with a famous football club ,some one must not of told the new man city owners ,

They shot themselves in the foot with the kenwrong interview debacle, not sure there is a way back for them under that banner.

No mate, that gunshot was not self-administered: it was fired by the club who presented to everyone how the interview was agreed to be conducted and reported. They did that to counter the PR disaster Kenwright served up.

In any case, when you have a support base well used to the fact that their club lies at every turn the damage isn't that great. As already established the team's results will determine reaction to the BU.

He is Bills mate what do you think he would say about Bill and why would we be nearlly sold without them knowing the state of the ground at an early stage . as for Abramovich, so he bought chelsea instead of arsenal because of the ground, arsenal stadium was third bigger than stamford bridge isnt part owned by a supporters trust so i can see the sense in that buy one of the most successful clubs around with a big ground or one with one half the size less fanbase and you cant expand the ground unless the supporters agree to it as they own part of the ground yes makes perfect sense that.,,,,,, ps Abramovich brough chelsea 2003 did three sides up since to bring it up to standard and present size.

It saddens me that people are hostile to the BU. At the very least those criticising them should be thanking them for putting massive pressure on that baord and at least getting some money spent this last transfer window. How can these lads be seen as a problem because they cant kidnap a buyer and present him to a board of directors whose responsibility it really is to get one themselves? Are we really saying that our board should get a free pass because they've got more money than a fans pressure group?

100% guaranteed: Kenwright, Woods, Earl as majority owners = no trophies for Everton. 17 years without success and counting. 100% guaranteed: a club in decline bit by bit for years to come. I cant even think of a set of circumstances for anyone to be critical of those opposed to that.

We have the BU to thank for any incomings? come on mate thats reaching at its best, if it transpires that we borrowed to the hilt to bring in players, can we blame the BU for said pressure in pushing us further into debt? Cheap shots really and shows the lack of analyse the debate has reached.

Again it underlines LCAB point, neither side is either 100% perfect or Evil, both tell porkies and can be disingenuous. They should achieve something instead of latching onto to anything good that happens at the club and trying to claim credit for it.

Out of interest what were the numbers for the march at the City game, seemed to go off with a bit of whimper, Day of protest at the Spurs game, wonder what the response will be. I think its a bit sad, they pick the more challenging games like City and Spurs to protest trying to undermine the club - hoping we prob get thrashed to ride the coat tails of fan frustration. Was amusing that we turned in our best preformence against City.

They must have missed that city didn't own the ground either...
or the city council get a large part of the crowd revenue, city only get whats left over after rent, in short if they get 40,000 the first twenty thousand or so isnt the clubs, or they can buy the council out for multi millions or as they are looking to do build another one but they would still have a lease with the council to pay or pay off, wow deal breaker that was wasnt it?

There are very simplistic points about City, there are many reasons why Middle Eastlands was a huge draw for a takeover - it was a hugely significant factor.
What are they enlighten us? if your on about the surrounding area any investment into it could be put into many other areas or they could have not bought city and just invested in the area at a much cheaper cost ,for what reasons did they buy city.?

There is no such balance to be had in this debate: one side has the authority and power to achieve things (investment, a stadium, a sale) and has achieved nothing/zero/nada/zilch on those fronts; the other are a pressure group with zero power but are concerned 'stakeholders' (the club love using that word...until people 'get above their station' and ask awkward questions of them).

Again, I have to say it saddens me that you'd use some ridiculous numbers game to slap down the concerns of supporters. I suppose it's to be expected like. You want Bill in charge for years to come because you're comfortable with Everton being pretty shit. I know you'll come back now and say 'please dont tell me what I think', but it's pretty obvious that you feel that way because anyone with an open mind and a bit of ambition for the club worked out and abandoned the fat headed fraud years ago.

Anyone kno the boards current plans for a new stadium????

No me neither

It's probably the same as it always was mate: wait and sit on their arses until a private developer comes along to throw a plan in their laps. The only active thing that lot do is to threaten their own fans with legal action.

TBH, I'm grateful they're not doing anything on the stadium front anymore. They'll just end up moving Everton to Cornwall or somwhere.

If every time we'd bought one of their reserves they'd stuck a couple of bricks under their jumper we'd have had it built by now.
