Really not sure of the point of these protests - what are they supposed to achieve other than to deter any possible new buyer!

I mean come on - if you had a few hundred million quid to invest - would you buy a club where the fans moan when their club is generally accepted as being the king of over-achievers in the prem

If there's that many fans who are unhappy and want to protest mate then it's up to them isn't it? You can either join it or swerve it. I don't think it would have any influence on new owners to be honest mate, but I've known to be wrong.

I am not saying that I actively support what the Blue Union are doing, but I do think it is appropriate for us Blues to remember that there was very little opposition to the long drawn-out protests that were carried out across the park against that club's owners, bearing in mind that in the previous, say, four seasons they had been champions of Europe and runners up in the Premier League in comparison to us being the media's 'over achievers' who have won nothing and never will under the present regime.

The slight difference is that the lot across the park were in real danger of going out of business within months.

We are in a bad way, but we are not touching administration.

but for how many more years can our sell to buy policy go on? infact it is now a sell to survive. too many cock-ups, no pot to piss in and i'm not sure the kenwright business model can continue.

They were hilarious though - do you not remember the "its like watching your family being raped over and over again" bit?

The problem with this concept is that, basically, football at the top level in this country is a competition between two well run in terms of their business model* clubs (United and Arsenal), two clubs who have virtually unlimited amounts of money to piss up the wall (Chelsea and City), a club that has a limited amount of money to piss up the wall (the ****e), the weird anti-gravity club that is Spurs, and the rest. The BU are right to have a pop at Kenwrong for certain aspects of the way he has run the club - selling off Finch Farm being one of the worst - but unless we get taken over by some insanely wealthy fool, there really is very little chance in which that we are going to seriously compete over a season with the wealthy clubs, and even if we did they would buy off our best players in an attempt to ensure that it couldnt happen again.

* this is of course an actual good business model, ie: you make more money than you spend

good analysis of the top flight. while i don't think everton will ever compete at the top again (winning leagues, champion league entry etc) my concern is that we still have a top flight club to support.

the current board are not working, the ground issue has been botched up throughout kenwrights time and we have come to a halt - as the last few summers failing to back the manager suggest.
