He struck lucky with Moyes, as it was walter smith who recommended him. And I'm thankful Billy boy had the courage to appoint him (or maybe just the cheap option) If it wasnt for Moyes we would still probably be doing a Leeds in the lower leagues. It the only credit Bill deserves....
As for Moshiri, he had no choice.....nearly eveyone had, had enough f him. Remember he turned down the City an PSG owners......with his fake illness he had no choice but to accept. But after the summer transfer window the jury is very much till out on Moshiri
These are ridiculous sentiments. No choice to sell? We already know for sure another US group was interested when Moshiri bought into us. Do you really think we won't have had interest from people and groups down the years who would have been completely inappropriate for us? Fake illness? That's juvenile.
You can say he got lucky with
Moyes but was it also lucky that he stuck with him in the difficult second season? Why didn't the owners of the clubs I mentioned above strike lucky? I agree
Moyes deserves a huge amount of credit but Kenwright appointed him and stuck with him so it's unfairly hypothetical to say we'd have done a Leeds without Moyes. Everton under Kenwright (as we all painfully know) have never spent wildly beyond their means to put the club in jeopardy.
I'm if the opinion that safeguarding the financial viability of the club should be a basic duty of an owner but sadly achieving even this puts him above quite a few of the other club owners during the prem years.
You can't blame him for hypothetical stuff he didn't do then refuse to credit him for actual stuff he did do.
