Mountbatten-Windsor is now in temporary accommodation while his (rent free) permanent home is updated to his requirements.

How much have Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson been paid for agreeing to be the only ones to be hung out to dry (so far - Mandelson will take care of himself, those 2 don't know how to butter a piece of toast)? There is no doubt the pair of them are entitled pariahs (why were they kept together after they had divorced?) but there will be far worse who enabled them and who continue to enable them (including the media) who, perhaps, will never be mentioned.

Sacrifice a couple of publicly viewed clowns to satisfy the national indignance and then move on, nothing to see here? They aren't doing this for no 'reward' and Mum isn't around to fix it.

Just further exposure (if needed) of what an absolute shower of wrong’uns Labour are, and that they’re just as barrel-scrapping as any other political party.
…and the Tories for at least the preceding 14 years. In comparison, Labour are angels.

You really can’t believe that Starmer knew all this in advance and still appointed Mandelson? Even the most naive politician would know the potential damage if they knew about it and went ahead. Bad enough that they did not appear to know it.

Oh my God!

Take the blinkers off FFS.

No one wants either of them, they are 'damaged goods'. Having them together limits the harm they can do elsewhere. Do feel a bit for the two daughters, they're being dragged though all of this with no sight of it ending. (although maxwell was born in France, she has a british passport, it'd be quite something if the 4 people in the media crosshairs tied up with the wrong doings of a criminal american financier were only brits, mandelson, mountbatts, ferguson).

On a related note, I do find it rather hypocritical of the americans that they're making a lot of noise about ferguson and mountbatts testifying in an american court, these are the same americans that spirited anne sacoolas out of the country (uk) whilst the blood of the 19 year old lad she had killed was still wet on the tarmac where she'd run him down driving on the wrong side of the road.

Mandelson's associations with Epstein were public domain years before the latest info came to light. For me, it's absolutely beggars belief that Starmer brought him back onboard, even more so as US Ambassador.

I can believe that nobody thought he was a wrong'n, just a schmoozer that circles around the corridors of power, but even so you just wouldn't appoint anyone with even the vaguest of associations to Epstein.

One of Starmer's biggest blunders, and there's a fair few to choose from.

Does anyone know if there's a podcast out there that breaks down the biggest revelations from the files? Not spun in any particular way, just cold hard facts?

I ain’t going to list the transgressions of Tories, firstly the list is too long and secondly it sickens me to the stomach.

Equally, there are some poor behaviours of this labour government, but nowhere at the scale of the last shower of thieving, conniving evil gangsters that were our elected government. Surely it is not for me to open my eyes, it is about scale, frequency and perniciousness of the last lot.

I completely agree that Mandelson should not have been appointed, yes information was in the public domain about he and Epstein, but he said it was all in the past and ceased immediately he was jailed - all his statements are false, but you only know that with hindsight.

Starmer may be a bit of a flip-flop PM, but I refuse to accept that he is as corrupt as Johnson, as stupid as Truss, as detached as May, as incompetent as Sunak and as cowardly as Cameron.

Opinions may differ on politics, that’s fine, but please don’t pretend that hindsight is the same as pre-knowledge of events.

I am certain that mandelson was selected exactly because of who and what he is, further that his reputation in the u.s. and the Favours* he had done would make him ideal for the position of chief influencer alongside the trump battlewagon. I don't think anyone wants mother Teresa in the chief ambassadors role for this presidency.
[note: I raise this because of it's humour, and also because it belies a certain type of character... Charles Kennedy "Paddy Ashdown is the only party leader who’s a trained killer. Although, to be fair, Mrs Thatcher was self-taught." mandelson was christened the prince of darkness by operators on his own side over two decades ago. Rarely a truer word spoken than in jest...]
Having a few positions of leverage over your associates in washington seems a rather better upper hand to hold, although the what and how this leverage was earned could be significant cause for concern. The current president finally, finally, last ditch, largest tranche, huge amount of documents being released appearing to hammer the final nail into mandelson's coffin is cause for scrutiny. Any move now to defend himself would look desperate, he's out of the lords, he's out of the party and he's out of work. I wonder who's sitting on a book deal currently waiting for the moment to strike. There absolutely will be one.
What a bloody and sordid mess. PMQ's in a bit, gonna be dynamite. If badenoch can't make hay today, she's on borrowed time.

[reckon starmer is tied to a chair right now, being slapped and questioned like Mick did to Rocky to prepare him to fight Apollo?]
