Ok, so I have been thinking about our financial situation. You may know better figures than I do but I believe our debt currently stands at about £45m? we also had PLUS £11m from the transfer dealings and possibly a small "kitty" plus the television income is going to be nuts this season £60m is it? Also if Baines goes in January for £20m does this mean we should be debt free at the end of this season or even be in credit? Only worry is Bill et al will put the asking price up for the club!

If we're possibly challenging for a top 4 place in January, it would be utter folly to sell Baines at that time.

Baines shouldn't be sold full stop, but if he has to go, it needs to be in the summer and not during the season.

Under Bill we'll always be in debt, he loves a good remorgage.

Seriously i doubt the plus is that high due to the Barry and Lukaku loans costing and that .

I'd be very surprised if Baines goes in January, and even more surprised if he went for £20m!

I think it's a bit more complex than that mate.

Have you taken outgoings and (seriously now) other operating costs into account?

Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity.

What the complete fck is going on here?

The majority of our debt is in the form of long term loans.

It doesnt bother the owners as its not them thats paying it back, its Sky and us mugs the fans, the debt will never be reduced, as it wont benefit the current owners, thus meaning they have no interest in paying it off, thus meaning we will forever be in debt.

As for selling Baines for 20m, why not just sell Baines, Barkley and Coleman, we could easily get 40m and pay off all the debt, thus saving us 4m a year in interest payments, which would help us to replace the 2 best full backs in the world and the brightest young talent for over 80 years.

Meanwhile we could invest in a squad of utter tosh like Kones.

I had a DREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM.

Get rid of our debt? Only if they puit a padlock on the doors of Les Ambasseduers.

Place your bets Ladies'n'Gen'lmen'

*cough*

Paying off debt is of secondary importance to investing in the playing squad. Our annual debt payments are similar in size to just one player's annual salary, it makes no sense to forgo major investment in the squad just so you can make a 5million pound a year saving.

If we have an extra 40 million to play with, it should be invested in the playing squad, it shouldn't be used as a way of increasing the equity held by our major shareholders.
