The Derby

Ells bells how long are we gonna blame the derby defeat on how poor we are. This time next year when we're battling the R word. " it was the derby last year when it started to go wrong." WTF.

It wasn’t that crushing, what’s wrong with you lot? We lose to Liverpool every year. We bottle it. This year is no different.

We are just not as good as we think we are for the 20th season running..
There's a difference between getting outplayed and losing 3-1, which most of us would of have forgot and losing in the 96th minute after playing well to an awful mistake. Whether you want to admit it or not, it destroyed our season. Up until then we'd won most of our home games excluding Huddersfield. We'd only lost to United and Arsenal in both games we were quite unlucky. Since the derby defeat we failed to beat both Newcastle and Watford at home. Lost To City, Brighton, Millwall, Leicester and Southampton. We were extremely lucky to beat Bournmouth and were pretty terrible against Lincoln. I think the derby just destroyed what little confidence we had. Last season was awful, but at least we didn't lose to them in the league and give them a chance to win the title, which makes our misery even worse. The fact that Palace have gone to Anfield and won more than once makes our record even worse. Even Wolves have beaten them twice in 2 seasons. I think it just shows we have a mental inferiority that doesn't seem to go away, we seem to out Everton ourselves each year. I left the room when they got free kick in the 93rd minute, because I knew what was gonna happen.

That last minute Origi goal has definitly knocked the stuffing out the team. Just shows what a weak mentality the team and the club have.
Yeah my thoughts too, as pro's you can understand a crushing disappointment in the immediate aftermath, however when they as a group got back together you would like to think their thoughts were,"hey we were pretty decent there, that was just a freak goal that un-done us,take this into the forthcoming games and we are really going places"I would like to think Siva and his staff drummed this into them, obviously this hasn't been the case as you say what a spineless mentality running through the core of Everton.

So if this form continues for our final 14 league games It will be down to the Derby defeat?

we'd lost to west ham at home as well... struggled past cardiff and palace

If one narrow defeat like that can totally de rail everything at a club, it's a sign that things are in a very very very bad way to start with.

Perhaps the "good form" prior to the derby was just all built on sand.

Either way it's embarrassing to blame a match that was played at the start of December for all our problems.

Did a bit of rejigging.
