A day later and time to reflect on it.

I know it’s the modern football world, but it’s not for me and I don’t think it’s for Everton either.

All well and good saying we’re the originals but it’s another stage-managed jibe at the RS and we’re left looking like idiots. Maybe next time we can have some of them stupid quotes Stubbs used to come out with before derbies?

Pre-kickoff it should be all about lighting the blue touch paper, letting them on the pitch know the privilege that they have and what we demand in return. I don’t need that tool on the PA telling me to hold up a card now.

Go back to banners and flags if that’s what you’re gonna do.

I’m not a fan and I thought that yesterday’s images were setting us up for a load of Kopite schadenfreude given the result.

However, the younger generation and the global TV audience probably love them so they are likely to continue.

I do think we should just focus on the Everton aspect and our place in the city rather than baiting Kopites with images of the Beatles in blue scarves when the original photo had red scarves so just don’t include it.

If we had something to shout about in terms of winning trophies in the recent past then maybe they become more appropriate.

Honestly as always Everton let this fanbase down again, how much longer will this go on and how much longer will we just accept it?

Until you have a billion pounds to give to the board for better players and wages, how can you not accept it?
