The Derby: Moyes v other Everton managers

funny old game saint innit - the main difference with those 3 games was imo, we played FOOTBALL against chelsea and man u, in the derby we were drawn into a kicking match , a tactic used to upset the opposition- moyes just needs to wise up to them lot over the park

At the risk of being ungrateful, we were awesome again today, it does make our form against the rs look even worse. Why the hell do they have such a voodoo curse on us when we can do everybody else under Moyes?

Wins against Chelsea and United good enough for you lads? :D

Someone said earlier in the thread about how Moyes was so desperate to win the Derby, and Mike Walker(?) just treated it as another game. Imo that is how Moyes should treat it now, or at least how he should try and sell it to the team.
Maybe a few years ago the blood and thunder approach was our best bet to try and win in these games, a la the Carsley and Johnson Derbies, but with the quality of our squad now, and the paucity of theirs, Gerrard and Torres aside, we should be able to beat them, as we have shown with the last 2 home games.
I think we just get two wound up in the 'importance' of the game, and go into the game A) trying to play a way that doesn't really suit us now, and B) trying too hard. Perhaps if we thought of them as just another 'Sky4' team, we can actually go and get the result, and then concentrate on it being the RS afterwards :)

I like the way Bruce hijacks the thread and turns it into something it wasn't about.

Next up: 'Win against Hull City enough for you lads?"

To be fair, there's not a lot you can say about the actual thread topic.

I mean your point is that Moyes' record against Liverpool is awful and well it is. But what can you say to that.

Nobody is suggesting that he doesn't generally do the business in the other 36 games or that he doesn't understand the importance so basically all you can say is 'yeah, sucks doesn't it, lets hope that changes'.

We were so poor when Moyes took over that we were nearly relegated.

Football, and the Prem in particular are much tougher now than in the day of some of those managers, including Kendal. The Prem is now full of many of the top players in the world, and we're not doing too badly.

I actually think our current team would beat our title winning team in a best of 5, just as I reckon O'sullivan would have beaten Joe Davis in snooker.

Taking nothing away from their achievements obviously.

I noticed Moyes is a mate of Hodgson's. Moyes was taken under the wing of Hodgson when he was manager at Udinese and Moyes was getting his coaching badges. They shared a trip to Belgium this week too.

Its got an effing draw written all over it.

There'll be sending off as per usual and Webb will hand it to an Everton player because he has his eyes on the Liverpool-United rivalry, and that's one he supposedly favours United in. We'll be the fall guys for that.

To be honest, and I know it isn't clever to say it, I hope we kick them up in the air for 90 minutes and see where the chips fall. The last thing we want is another powder puff, roll over and die non-performance they've put in of late against them.

This mate, get in, at them, on them and all over them. No messing about, no taking moody challenges off them two shithouses Carragher and Gerrard.

Hurt them early in front of an angry Goodison.

We're the most fouled team in the premiership...

Cant see us sticking the boot in to be honest. Cahill and Neville will but everyone else....

Gerrard on a stretcher carried out of Goodison. No one wants that like.*

*Oh yes we do, that would be freakin perfect seeing that [Poor language removed] plastered all over the pitch.
